Paul Rimmer, since his teen years, was involved in karate and Japanese wrestling. At the age of 21. he quit his job and left his office to travel to California, USA from Liverpool, England. There, he joined the Next Generation Fighting Academy in Irvine, where he trained all day every day for nine months under the guidance of Chris Brennan.
After returning to his country, Rimmer eventually opened a two-floor gym in the Febric District area, drawing youngsters to the MMA gym. Fighters like McCann and Paddy Pimblett were attracted, shifting the city’s focus from predominantly football to MMA. The gym is now home to 15 professionals across four MMA promotions, including UFC, Bellator, Cage Warriors, and Oktagon.
