Controversies have marred Paddy Pimblett‘s win over Jared Gordon. The UFC and MMA realms looked divided in their opinions about who should have won the fight at UFC 282. Many people thought judges had robbed Gordon of a much-deserved victory. It’s noteworthy that similar scenes had occurred at Bellator 289 when Raufeon Stots and Danny Sabatello saw a shocking 50-45 scorecard from Doug Crosby.

The score led to Sabatello‘s victory; despite the other two judges scoring in favor of Stots. In the aftermath of vicious criticism from fans and experts, Crosby finally came up with a statement about the controversy. He presented his views while talking to the MMA legend, Chael Sonnen.

Doug Crosby was being hosted by Sonnen on his podcast on Player FM. He denied commenting upon the latest amendments from the Nevada State Athletic Commission. He did, however, mention a correlation between critiques and their financial stature. Crosby said none of his critiques belonged to the working class.

Crosby responds to criticism after Paddy Pimblett’s fight

Talking to Sonnen, Crosby said he felt there was a certain correlation between the people who criticized him and how rich they were.

He said, “You’d have to ask yourself before you accept that as valid criticism. I would qualify the source of that criticism and say; is this a working-class person making that critique, or is it a fabulously wealthy person making that critique?

A formal complaint was lodged with the NSAC after Paddy Pimblett became the winner at UFC 282 about the standards of Judging in UFC. In response to the complaint, the NSAC had amended its rules; preventing traveling combat sports judges from participating in back-to-back events.

Gordon had criticized Crosby’s judgment, which went in favor of Paddy Pimblett

Jared Gordon, who was on the receiving end of Doug Crosby‘s dubious decision at UFC 282. He had blasted off the judgment while talking to Michael Bisping and Anthony Smith. He said he felt the score was going to be 30-27 in his favor but was shocked to see it going toward ‘The Baddy’.

Gordon also pointed out that the third was the only round where Crosby had actually scored him better than Pimblett. UFC President Dana White and experts heavily criticized Gordon‘s third-round performance. They accused him of not going for the kill in the final round.
