The former title challenger, Colby Covington, is hitting headlines ever since he appeared as a backup for the main event of UFC 286. After the bout between Leon Edwards and Kamaru Usman, UFC President Dana White declared Covington as Edwards’ next opponent. However, at the moment, Covington’s supposed dislike for England is what is catching the attention of fans. Chaos Covington revealed his distaste for the island across the pond while talking to English UFC legend Michael Bisping.
Covington has been receiving a lot of mixed reactions from the UFC community after White’s announcement. Some of the welterweights, like Belal Muhammad, felt that Covington didn’t deserve a title fight. Even the welterweight champion was not ready to lock horns with Colby. Nonetheless, the UFC boss is adamant that Covington will get a title shot for the third time.
In a recent interview with Bisping, he addressed the possibility of the fight between ‘Chaos’ and ‘Rocky’ coming to fruition. Furthermore, that’s when the Springfield native talked about his experience in the United Kingdom.

Colby Covington didn’t like England
During the conversation with Covington, ‘The Count’ asked if he liked England when he visited as a backup for the main event of UFC 286. Being someone from England, Bisping expected a few good words from the 35-year-old.
Instead, Covington said, “I didn’t like it, Mike. You know I can’t have some guy in a castle across the pond telling me the way I need to live my life. The food was terrible but the people, man.”
“Mike, I have so much respect for the fans, for the people. Man, all the people there are great. They deserve better, Mike,” he added.
Talking further on the same topic, he asked people from London to come to Miami, “Listen, all the people of London, you want to come to Miami. The king of Miami will show you a good time in Miami, nothing but beaches. Good, clear blue skies, and the best food in the world.”
Covington was not hesitant to give his honest opinion about the UK. He was not ready to sugarcoat his words for the Manchester native.
Dana White gives Covington another title shot
Dana White’s new decision to give Covington another opportunity to win the belt shook the entire welterweight division. Out of the last four bouts, Covington has lost two to the former welterweight champion, Kamaru Usman. Both were title bouts, and Covington had failed to earn the belt. Hence, fighters like Belal Muhammad, who is at the peak of his career with an eight-fight winning streak, except for a no contest in between, feel that Colby is getting an unfair shot at the title.
