Kayla Harrison(13-0) is a name that fans in the MMA community have grown accustomed to in recent years. The unbeaten lightweight prospect recently fought at the PFL 3 event securing a unanimous decision win over Marina Mokhnatkina (6-2) at the Esports Stadium Arlington in Texas. Harrison failed to secure a finish and was victorious via decision. Harrison teased a move to UFC earlier on but ended up staying with PFL.

The two-time lightweight champion has an impressive finish rate and has won 10 out of 13 fights via either KO or submission.

However, something seemed quite off in her last outing as she failed to secure a finish in the opening bout of the lightweight tournament.
UFC star Sean Strickland advised Kayla Harrison to remain in the scrub league
UFC middleweight star, Sean Strickland took to Twitter to rain down verbal attacks on Harrison. Strickland claimed that her latest performance failed to stack up with all the tall claims that she makes. He even took a shot at PFL dubbing it a ‘scrub league’ and criticized her for choosing to remain with the promotion.

Strickland also added that he simply doesn’t like Harrison, as he hasn’t seen anyone behave like that. He reiterated that Harrison hasn’t faced real competition in her career yet and has only faced lesser fighters.

Despite that, she seemed to struggle against the competition, which seemed to indicate that she might not be ready for high-level competition.
Kayla Harrison critiqued her own performance at PFL 3
Following her win over Marina Mokhnatkina, Harrison made an honest assessment of her outing. During the post-fight interview, she dubbed her performance as ‘utter dog crap’ and also stated that she wasn’t satisfied and even apologized to the fans.

She said, “I think it was utter dog cr*p, but sorry to the fans. I wanted to put on a better show for you. Sometimes, these girls are tougher than you think.”

Harrison believes she is among the best female fighters alive today and can take on the likes of Cris Cyborg, Amanda Nunes, and even Julianna Pena. She has been calling out Cyborg for a cross-promotional bout to determine the better fighter. Bellator has already hosted such an event with Rinzin and it could soon do the same with PFL.
