UFC featherweight star Brian Ortega was in a very public relationship with UFC heartthrob Tracy Cortez until last year. Now, ‘T-City’ is back with his ex-girlfriend, and the mother of his two children, Stephanie Roberts. Not only are they back, but they are in fact married now. And so close are the couple that Stephanie was present in the octagon, along with their two boys, Caleb and Joshua, after Ortega’s victory over Yair Rodriguez at their rematch in February.

On the occasion of Mother’s Day last month, the UFC featherweight took to Instagram to express his sincere love and appreciation for his wife. Ortega thanked her for the support and belief she has always had in him and for being a wonderful mother and wife. “Happy Mother’s Day gorgeous. You deserve the world for holding us down the way you have been. Since I was 20 years old you saw something in me. And whatever that was im happy to be here with you, our family is back and just living life with you is such a blessing . Our kids could not have been blessed with a better mom , and me a Wife . We love you 💙,” he wrote.

As apparent from his social media post, Ortega is content and happy with his family and loves spending time with them. The former title contender extended his stay in Mexico after defeating Rodriguez, turning it into a vacation with his family. However, many have wondered what exactly happened between Cortez and ‘T-City.’

Why did Brian Ortega and Tracy Cortez break up?

Brian Ortega dated Tracy Cortez in for around three years between 2020 and 2023. Their relationship was in the face very serious, with one of Ortega’s social media posts, with Cortez featuring her wearing a diamond ring on her ring finger, pointing to a potential engagement. However, things apparently went sour quickly last year.

While there was no public announcement from either fighter regarding their split up, signs were pointing to it from around late 2022. The couple reportedly called it quits a few months later in January 2023. The reason why Cortez and Ortega broke up is also unknown at the moment, as neither party has spoken about it in public.

One exception is a tweet post Brian Ortega sent out after a pic of Cortez with UFC middleweight star Paulo Costa went viral, which indicated that he was the one who broke up with her. “Everyone out here talking bout I fumbled. Y’all must not know the rules of the game. When you drop the ball on accident that’s a fumble, but when you throw it away on purpose. That’s called a complete pass. Top G s**t!” Ortega wrote.
