Sean O’Malley‘s split decision win over Petr Yan at UFC 280 continues to be a heated debate topic. In what many deemed to be a close fight, O’Malley got the majority of the judges’ nod. Although, many fans and pros gave the fight to Yan while agreeing that it was indeed a close fight.

Several reactions have come out in the aftermath of this key bantamweight fight. O’Malley declared he believes he won, Yan expressed his frustration at the judges, and Conor McGregor took a shot at Yan for losing. Meanwhile, Daniel Cormier’s latest revelation that Yan was considering leaving the UFC got a lot of attention.

In the latest episode of DC & RC, former heavyweight champion and UFC commentator Daniel Cormier revealed some news about Petr Yan’s future. DC said that he heard rumors about Yan considering something different down the line for his career, as he believes the organization does not have his back.

Several fans and fighters reacted to the news. Some pointed out that the UFC had nothing to do with the judges. Others gave DC flak for the news as Yan’s manager debunked the claims as false. Some even accused DC of pushing some sort of company agenda against Petr Yan. Cormier has received criticism in the past for taking the UFC’s side on issues.

UFC middleweight Derek Brunson wrote, “UFC has nothing to do with the judges.” Former UFC star Diego Sanchez commented, “Dc does not have a valid opinion he’s a slave to the machine that pushes the UFC’s strategized agenda.”

One fan commented, “DC making up his own stories.” Another fan said, “Fake news, his manager already debunked this.” Yet another fan took a shot at DC and said, “DC & RC is such a trash MMA show…” One fan accused DC of being a company man and wrote, “Only back DC got is Dana’s. Better be careful what you say around DC.”

More fans expressed their disappointment with Cormier in the comment section. One of them wrote, “DC has turned into a 🤡. It’s sad as hell man. Use to love him. Now he’s a puppet. Pathetic.”

“I used to love DC so much and now it’s just so obvious how he favorites ppl. Not only with Khabib and Islam either. It’s sad,” added a social media user. Another fan wrote, “Ufc fans are so disappointed in DC they’re not buying PPVs.”

The bantamweight slugfest between Sean O’Malley and Petr Yan was one of the best fights at UFC 280. The win saw O’Malley make it to the top of the bantamweight rankings. However, it put Petr Yan in a tough spot. He has now lost two fights in a row to a split decision. Yan has good reason to be upset.
