Nate Diaz is indeed a proud resident of Lodi, California. The fighter has always been obsessed with power, and his teammates follow that through. Recently, Mikey Singh Hothi, a teammate of the UFC welterweight contender, was elected the mayor of Lodi. The proud native not only works for the community but also trains in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu with Diaz. Furthermore, he claimed that his aspiration to get the black, as well as his training in martial arts, are what helped him sit on the mayor’s chair.

Diaz’s teammate was previously a council member of District 5. However, the new mayor might put some more light on Diaz. With a submission over the Irish star, Conor McGregor, Diaz even received well-deserved special recognition from the Californian government.
Nate Diaz’s teammate wins the elections
Teammate to the professional mixed martial artist and UFC fighter, Hothi is a BJJ enthusiast. Inside Fighting recently shared a post on Instagram that showed Diaz’s friend taking the oath to become the mayor of Lodi. However, his word about martial arts is what claimed people’s hearts.

Hothi said, “Being a Jiu Jitsu black belt is probably the most important aspect that helped me to become Mayor. Over the years I learned to stay calm under pressure, not overreact to things, and to be disciplined. During the craziness of elections and politics, it’s important to do that.”
Back when Hothi was a brown belt in BJJ, he was elected as a council member. But later, as he raised the bars and disciplined himself for the black belt, the results of his training reflected in his personality, which finally led him to success.
However, Diaz’s training partner is not the only fighter who was elected to win a seat in a city council. The paths were previously laid by Tito Ortiz, who was elected as the mayor of his hometown, Huntington Beach.
Nate Diaz congratulated his friend for the recent achievement
Brotherhood is important in Diaz’s life. Hence, when Hothi successfully became the mayor of Lodi, Diaz surely was happy. The former UFC fighter took to Instagram stories to share a picture of the newly elected mayor and tagged him.
The Stockton MMA fighter also shared Hothi’s quotes about BJJ and how it helped him achieve such a huge feat.
However, the younger Diaz isn’t too far behind in achievements. UFC 279 indeed gave chills to every single soul watching the fights, especially Diaz’s fight against Tony Ferguson. Without a doubt, the match began with fans sitting on the edge. To add to the thrill, both of the warriors were giving their all as they exchanged blows.
