The internet was set on fire earlier this year when Elon Musk challenged fellow social media tycoon Mark Zuckerberg to a cage fight and the latter accepted. Zuckerberg is serious about his martial arts and while only a blue belt, he did win a BJJ tournament at a California school recently.

Although it started off as a joke, it created massive hype with even officials from the Italian government holding talks to hold it at the iconic and ancient Colosseum in Rome. The fight, however, fell through in the end, with Zuckerberg feeling the Twitter owner was not serious. And Musk’s father, Errol Musk talked about this and other issues in an interview with ‘The U.S. Sun’.

Errol Spence said that his family does not take well to alcohol or smoking and was displeased by his son infamously smoking weed on his ‘Joe Rogan Experience’ podcast appearance five years ago. He felt that Elon had done this as he wanted to fit in and did not want to seem “prudish”.

“We are people who cannot stomach alcohol, are completely averse to smoking, and are almost totally averse to medications, including drugs of any sort. Not wanting to look prudish on such a show, he took the puff, which experts said did not include inhaling, thank heavens, as Elon would have coughed the show to a close,” the tech billionaire’s father said.

He felt this was a hit job by detractors on his son.

Although the relationship between Elon Musk and his father has been a bit rocky over the years, with Errol publicly criticizing his son, he has come to his son’s defense in this case. Elon has been going through a turbulent time since his purchase of the massively loss-making Twitter. Even Tesla stocks lost 11% of their value over the week. So it is good to see his father in his corner right now.
