After the bout, Dustin didn’t seem very interested in discussing it. He conveyed his joy at winning the fight. Diamond said, “I don’t want an apology. It doesn’t mean anything to me. I just want you to be honest.” During the interview he kept on emphasizing on the importance of having a genuine competition between two fighters.
Poirier described how he had to put up with Chandler’s fouls during the fight. He was prepared to use a technical knockout to totally destroy his opponent. However, he was unable to carry out his plan and least expected to catch Chandler in a rear naked choke. Poirier was unable to move forward with the fight as he planned and acknowledged that the iron is unpredictable. He admits that he was underestimating Chandler’s durability.

‘Iron Mike’ held firm on the ground throughout the fight. Without hesitation, he refuted each accusation and deferred to the referee. when questioned regarding the foul following the fight. By telling his side of the story, Chandler made an effort to make his stance clear. He described how Poirier was biting on his fingers with all of his might despite his best efforts to get them out of his mouth. He found it difficult to pull his fingers from Poirier’s mouth as a result.
