The internet sensation Jake Paul will finally lay his hands on the MMA fighter Nate Diaz after months of teasing and call-outs culminated in an official declaration. The announcement on Wednesday of the slated showdown elated most combat sports fans. Since then, the marquee fight has garnered eyeballs as it is big enough to shatter the PPV records. However, the fans couldn’t make sense of one key detail related to the awaited fight, the timing of the announcement. Coming to the aid of the fans, a UFC veteran disclosed the reason behind the long wait they have to bear.
Separated from over three months’ wait, the fans might have to blame the build-ups and finances involved in the super fight. Likewise, the promoters might have taken inspiration from the UFC star Conor McGregor and Jose Aldo‘s promotional tour, where their heated arguments and shenanigans provided an impetus to the title fight.

The UFC veteran Chael Sonnen on his YouTube channel revealed that four press conferences will deck the lead-up. While he came out as a supporter but the “million years away” wait will give fans a hard time.
Thus, he said, “There’s going to be four press conferences leading into this match… So this is all the info that we have and I gotta tell you I’m not sure they have what they think they have. I’m just not sure that this is what they think that it is.”
“I’m a supporter… I mean, right now I’m kind of giving a hard time. Because it’s a million years away,” he added later on.
Contrary to the promoter’s objectives, the MMA legend painted a gloomy picture and suggested four press conferences weren’t good news.
Sonnen wishes the promoters had not resorted to the early announcement
In the same clip, the former UFC associate wished the promoters hadn’t done that. A busy schedule that grips the MMA world might cripple and suffocate the buzz surrounding the fight. Further, he questioned how the promoters could realize the plan once every month.
Thus, the MMA analyst stated, “I wish that, I truly wish they hadn’t done that. And they got a hold of me to let me know that the reason they’re announcing it so early is because they’re going to do four press conferences. But there again, that’s not good news.”
