The UFC commentator in episode #989 welcomed the guest, Dorian Yates. Yates is an established name in professional bodybuilding. The British bodybuilder achieved significant heights during his career as a bodybuilder. Notably, he won the Mr. Olympia title six consecutive times in the 1990s.

In the episode, the duo looked at Yates’s old bodybuilding photos and discussed cannabis and his experience with DMT and Ayahuasca.
Joe Rogan’s take from legendary bodybuilders
In the episode, Joe Rogan disclosed what the British bodybuilder represented to him. Thus he said, “Well, you [Dorian Yates] represented to me as an outsider looking in, this insane determination.”
In the same breath, the color commentator then discussed and referred to other big shots in the bodybuilding industry. Further, he expressed what he thought was required to reach that level. Rogan pointed out that it was something else rather than big and ridiculous muscles.
Rogan continued, “You know, I felt like all the best guys, whether it’s either Arnold [Arnold Schwarzenegger], Lee Haney, or you [Dorian Yates], all the top guys, they always represented not just the biggest and most profoundly ridiculously muscular bodybuilders but also this extreme dedication that was required to reach that level.”
The stand-up comic has extensive knowledge about the fitness industry, as the podcast host has spent years in combat sports. This involvement ranged from having an amateur kickboxing career to spending over 20 years with the UFC.

The 55-year-old hosted the popular American reality show Fear Factor. The hosting opportunity came knocking on his doors when Joe Rogan was struggling as an artist.
Rogan hosted the first season of the reality show that ran from 2001 before its cancellation in 2006. However, the show returned for a brief second season in 2011. But unfortunately, the second stint couldn’t replicate the numbers and impact of the first season.
The show made Joe Rogan a popular face on American TV and thus a household name.
