However, in the midst of the buildup to the PPV, MMA fans have had their first disappointment. The announced broadcast team has one notable name missing- Joe Rogan. While Bruce Buffer will take on the announcer’s duties, and Megan Olivi will conduct backstage interviews, the fans will not be able to spot Joe Rogan on the commentators’ table.
This absence is owing to the fact that the UFC commentator has a contractual condition that makes his commentating commitments exclusive to the USA.
Instead, the trio of Jon Anik, Paul Felder, and UFC Hall of Famer Daniel Cormier will share the Octagon commentating duties.
Fans’ reaction to Cormier’s inclusion in the commentary team for UFC 280
Fans reacted to the commentary lineup on social media. While many will miss the color commentator Joe Rogan, they have a hot take on the former UFC champion, Daniel Cormier.

A fan felt it would be biased and hence wrote, “The most biased commentary incoming”.
“The bias is about to be crazy😂🤪”.
In fact, several social media users anticipate ‘DC’ to be biased.
“If DC makes one bais comment during the oliveira fight he should be banned from Popeyes chicken for life or any fast food joint for that matter”.

“The biased begins”.
“Get ready for DC going crazy after islam lands a light jab…”.
Another person wrote, “Why DC? To see him crying again?”
“Please leave dc at home…,” commented another social media user.
Cormier has a great relationship with Nurmagomedov and his teammates. As a result, many fans felt that having Cormier on the commentating team was not a good idea.
“Nooo not DC cry replace with @brendanfitztv”
“Islam touches the gloves. DC: Oh he is so great, the best ever,” commented a person.
“What’s DC gunna do when Islam gets smoked 😂”
“Definitely going to mute the commentary .or at least watch the Brazilian commentary😂”
Another Instagram user followed the same notion and wrote, “No audio then lol”
“Joe Rogan needs to commentate this fight. Give Paul the next one, this one too important.”
“NOOOOO WHERE IS LORD ROGAN”
“Should’ve tried to have Rogan instead of Bias DC”
The exciting lineup of UFC 280 will not make fans miss Joe Rogan
The main card features two title fights. The main event bout features former champion Charles Oliveira and Islam Makhachev.
