UFC 296 ended with Leon Edwards retaining the Welterweight title after convincingly defeating Colby Covington. While Edwards showed his class, another UFC veteran struggled to meet expectations. Tony Ferguson entered the Octagon to end his losing streak. However, the 39-year-old lost his fight against Paddy Pimblett and extended his losing streak to seven.

From winning twelve fights in a row to losing seven in a row, Ferguson’s downfall has been nothing but shocking. With his recent loss against Pimblett, the calls for his retirement have gone stronger. However, the 39-year-old is still confident of turning back his career and took to Instagram to share his thoughts.

” El Cucuy” became the first fighter in the UFC lightweight division to win twelve fights. During this period, he also managed to win the interim lightweight title. However, Ferguson’s recent form has been entirely out of place. His last win came against Donald Cerrone at UFC 238 via second-round TKO. Ferguson then lost against Justin Gaethje at UFC 249, ending his winning streak. Since then, the 39-year-old has been trying to get back to winning ways.

” El Cucuy” worked hard before his fight at UFC 296 and even took the help of renowned endurance coach David Goggins. However, his training did not help him in the fight as the judges scored all the rounds in favor of Pimblett. With Ferguson losing seven fights in a row, fans have suggested that the former champ retire from the sport. The 39-year-old, however, feels he can still return to winning ways and has no intention of retiring. Fans, after hearing this, have shared their opinion on Instagram. Let us take a look at some comments:
