Ryan Clark had a sit-down with former UFC Light-Heavyweight and Heavyweight Champion Daniel Cormier where he asked the fighter about his take on the upcoming fight between Oliveira and Dariush.
“I think it’s title fight for both, RC. I think if Charles Oliviera wins I think that he would find himself back in the championship opportunity because of the title run that he had and for Beneil Dariush – no one is more deserving” said Cormier. “This guy has won 8 in a row in one of the toughest divisions in the UFC and he has gotten better every time we watch him step into the Octagon.” continued the UFC HoFer on Dariush.
Speaking highly of the evolution of Beneil Dariush as a fighter and about his personality when he is not in the ring, Cormier said, “Beneil Dariush has become fun. Beneil Dariush takes chances Beneil Dariush is one of those guys that really does lay it all on the line and one of the nicest human beings, you have ever met in your entire life bro. Beneil is a guy that walks up to you with a smile – he walks away with you smiling, because he just makes you feel better even about yourself when you’re done talking to him.”

With UFC, every possible title-shot claim is a rumor unless the promotion decides to take notice and shed light on it. However, some are more credible than others, for statistical reasons. Of recent, there have been numerous claims and speculations that suggest that the winner of the UFC 289 co-main event, would be getting a shot at the title – a match with Makhachev.
Charles Oliveira, despite his relentless grappling prowess, was unable to secure a victory over Islam Makhachev at UFC 280. Makhachev took the win by submission. However, this fight against Dariush might give him his shot at redemption – and the title. However, this will be no easy feat since Beneil Dariush’s technical expertise and resilience, have earned him his impressive winning streak.

Whether there is any truth to these rumors is yet to be seen. However, with the entire UFC universe buzzing with excitement and fans supposing that the winner of the fight between Oliveira and Dariush, one cannot help but really take into consideration, that the promotion and its president will take notice.
