Shields doesn’t shy away from sharing his raw and unfiltered opinions on recent developments. In one of his recent Tweets, the American fighter supported the artist in crisis, Kanye West.

Significantly, Jake Shields built his MMA career with his own unique MMA style, the ‘American Jiu-Jitsu’. Thus, mixing Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and wrestling, and as a result, achieved greater heights. Notably, Shields won championship belts in the Strikeforce, Elite XC, and Rumble on the Rock.

Jake Shields’ tweet about Kanye West

While the world is collapsing around Kanye West due to his recent tweets, the American rapper has found an unlikely ally. The submission grappler, Jake Shields, has maintained his stand in a series of tweets; that he stands by the artist.

In an opinion tweet by Variety, the major media house asked about the views of its followers regarding the potential music ban on Kanye West. Thus, the tweet read, “Should Kanye West’s music be banned?”

The ‘Skrap Pack’ member followed the opinion tweet with a simple statement. He stood for artistic liberty and expression. Hence, the 43-year-old athlete declared, “No music should ever be banned”

However, Variety reports, relying on data by Luminate, that Kanye West’s albums are down 23% and the airplay has dropped off to 13%. Further, sales have also faced a dip of 17.5%.

Why Ye is in the limelight?

The rapper’s controversial “death con 3” tweet about Jewish people on Saturday night resulted in his Twitter and Instagram accounts being banned. Further, his Oct. 19 interview with Piers Morgan only amplified the damage. Hence, the demand to boycott Ye and his ventures.

According to Forbes, the companies have taken note of Kanye West’s recent controversy and have therefore started to cut ties with the artist. Following Balenciaga’s suit, the latest entrant is Adidas. Besides, getting stripped of his most lucrative deal with Adidas, West has also lost his billionaire status.
