Dana White seems to be hell-bent on unleashing the Power Slap League. The league was previously scheduled to be aired on 11th January. However, due to some unforeseen circumstances, the date of the premiere got delayed by a week. The UFC president recently declared the Power Slap League will premiere on TBS on 18th January. However, mixed martial arts fans seemingly are not attracted towards the promotion. Doubtlessly, many MMA fans have stopped paying any attention to the league. However, those who do follow the sport, seemingly do not have anything positive to say.

The show is supposed to be a slapping league, which was brought into existence with a partnership between UFC and Endeavor. However, the success of the show lies with the fans.

Fans diss Dana White and the Power Slap League

UFC has got a fanbase like no other combat sports promotion. However, the fans’ expectations for the UFC president’s other venture, Power Slap, are quite low. Recently, White announced on Twitter that the league would premiere on TBS on January 18, 2023. The UFC boss wrote“.@powerslapleague premiers Jan. 18th after @AEW on TBS.” 

However, the fans were nowhere close to appreciating the venture. The public declared the show as nothing but cringe and useless. Without a doubt, people do not expect the league to fare as well as its mixed martial arts affiliations. Moreover, the concerns for the venture are in fact skyrocketing.

Furthermore, many of the fans associated White’s recent physical altercation with his wife with the slapping league. They joked about the couple being the main event of Power Slap. 

Dustin Poirier’s view on Power Slap

The former interim champion, Dustin Poirier, also put forth his opinion about White’s new venture. He revealed his thoughts in an interview with the. ‘Diamond’ seemed to believe that the competition would only evaluate a person’s toughness and not their fighting skills.

Poirier said, “It’s more of a toughman competition type thing, you know. And I’m just not educated on the techniques of slapping somebody.” Without a doubt, the lightweight fighter shares most of the fans’ opinion, as well.
