Israel Adesanya reached a career milestone after his win against Alex Pereira at UFC 287 in Miami. Not only did he get sweet revenge against his arch nemesis, ‘The Last Stylebender’ achieved the remarkable feature of becoming the UFC middleweight champion for the second time. This accomplishment has just added to the already glorified cabinet of the Nigerian-born New Zealand fighter.
Moreover, his accomplishments have been recognized by the community from his birthplace. The UFC champion received a letter acknowledging his latest win over rival Alex Pereira.
Israel Adesanya shares a letter from the High Commission of Nigeria

The two-time UFC middleweight champion shared a letter that he received from High Commission of Nigeria congratulating his on his “remarkable achievement”. The letter was sent by Ambassador Anderson N. Madubike, the High Commissioner of Nigeria.

The Ambassador congratulated ‘Stylebender’ over his win at UFC 287 in Miami. He commended Adesanya for “befitting the Nigerian spirit” and “incredible attitude of never giving up”.

The letter also remarked on some earlier achievements of Adesanya like winning the UFC crown for the first time and subsequently defending it. Ambassador Madubike also praised the Nigerian-born fighter for being a role model for aspiring Nigerians with his “remarkable achievements”.
The Ambassador also wrote that these achievements will serve as a catalyst for Adesanya to accomplish greater achievements in his “service to humanity”. Certainly, the two-time UFC middleweight champion has made his country proud of his accomplishments.

Former UFC middleweight fighter Chael Sonnen picks Dricus Du Plessis as the next opponent for Israel Adesanya. Sonnen said, “The champion’s opinion matters… this African [thing] matters… whatever got to him and bothered him… I mean, these types of things start to matter… “

Sonnen also added, “Du Plessis does start to make a lot of sense. All of a sudden, you start to look at number six. He’s only asked for one thing. There’s a way to make all of this happen.”
