This matchup will serve as his second crack at the featherweight gold, as his previous attempt against Jose Aldo saw him losing the bout via KO/TKO in the fourth round at UFC 163.

UFC 273: Complete fight card details

Originally, Volkanovski was slated to face the former champion, Max Holloway, in a trilogy. As ‘Blessed’ suffered an unfortunate injury, that bout was scrapped and ‘Zombie’ became the biggest beneficiary.

Besides this massive fight, fans will witness the long-anticipated rematch between interim bantamweight champion Petr ‘No Mercy’ Yan against reigning bantamweight champion Aljamain “Funkmaster’ Sterling.

In their previous outing in 2021 at UFC 259, Yan dropped the title to Sterling via DQ, due to an illegal knee strike to the head. Since then, while the master of the funk hasn’t competed inside the octagon; Yan made a return at UFC 267 and won the interim title against a formidable fighter in Cory Sandhagen.

Another major highlight of the card will pit a veteran welterweight fighter and former title challenger, Gilbert Burns, against UFC upstart Khamzat ‘The Wolf’ Chimaev. After decimating 4 opponents in a dominant fashion, the Swedish prodigy will finally get his crack at a top fighter.

‘Borz’ has stated time and time again that he aims to become a dual weight champion. A win over ‘Durinho’ will definitely fast-track him to a fight against Kamaru Usman

Also, Mackenzie Dern will make her return to the octagon against Tecia Torres on the main card.
