UFC fighter Jamahal Hill successfully captured the light heavyweight title after defeating veteran Glover Texeira at UFC 283 via a unanimous decision. Texeira announced his retirement from the sport of MMA after an illustrious career in the post-fight octagon interview. However, he mentioned that his protégé Alex Pereira will be moving to the light heavyweight division. Meanwhile, Jamahal Hill appeared in an interview just a month before his against Texeira, where he shared his thoughts about ‘Poatan’ moving to the light heavyweight division.

Glover Texeira and Alex Pereira have been training with each other for a while now. The recently retired MMA veteran acted as a cornerman for ‘Poatan’ in his bout against Israel Adesanya at UFC 281. Their partnership has served both of them well. However, Jamahal Hill doesn’t sound too keen on Pereira’s move up the weight class. He claims that he should stay in the 185lbs category and fight there.

Although many people believe that Alex Pereira may take revenge for Glover Texeira’s loss, ‘Sweet Dreams’ does not want to entertain that statement. When asked about ‘Poatan’, Hill said, “The only thing about him [Pereira] that interests me is like, they told me he might come up.” He has dared Pereira to come into his division and fight him. “Whenever he decides, Oh yeah. I can f*ck him up. Come on in, my boy. I want all that smoke, all that,” said Jamahal Hill.

‘Sweet Dreams’ also warned Pereira that he doesn’t know what Hill is capable of doing inside the octagon. He said, “If you come playing to my motherf*cking yard and my backfield, I don’t play that shit bro.” Jamahal Hill added, “Whenever we step in there, it’s all business. The eyes, the look of me …he’s [Pereira] never seen that before. He don’t understand that side.” The new light heavyweight champion is confident that he will come out on top against ‘Poatan.’
