Conor McGregor has made yet another trip to the White House in the nation’s capital. But this time, as an esteemed guest for St. Patrick’s Day. The former UFC double champion even addressed the media briefly, citing the importance of Ireland’s relationship with the United States of America. And guess what? The Irishman made an interesting comment about both nations being ‘siblings’.

Despite Donald Trump claiming that McGregor’s arch-rival Khabib Nurmagomedov is his favorite fighter, he still holds the Irishman in high regard. It was apparent when the POTUS invited him over for his presidential inauguration ceremony, with McGregor being one of the many celebrities who attended the illustrious event. But this time, McGregor acted as a spokesperson for his native country when he addressed the media regarding Ireland losing out on its “Irishness.”

“What is going on in Ireland is a travesty. Our government is the government of zero action with zero accountability. Ireland is at the cusp of potentially losing its Irishness” owing to the “illegal immigration racket.” McGregor stated. Then came the reason for hubbub among the fans.

“Ireland and America, we are siblings. We consider America our big sibling. So it’s important for Ireland to be a peaceful, prosperous country for 40 million Irish Americans to have a place to visit, [to] come back to their home.” McGregor said regarding the US-Ireland relations.

He further added, “So we wish for our relationship with the United States to continue, and we wish to be taken care of by the big bro. The United States should look after its little bro. And that’s how we feel.”

Well, the fans seemed surprised to see Conor McGregor speaking at the White House and took to social media to express their thoughts on his recent endeavor. However, the reactions from the fans weren’t as nice as the former UFC champion would have hoped. Let’s take a look at what they had to say.

Fans take jibes at Conor McGregor’s public speaking skills

Well, Conor McGregor, known for being very articulate with his words as he’s burned many of his UFC opponents on the microphone, appeared to stutter his words while standing on the podium and speaking to the media. A couple of fans noticed that, as they commented, “He look nervous,” and, “I’ve never seen him so nervous. LMAO,” on X in that regard.

The fans also claimed that Conor McGregor “might be the worst public speaker…wtf,” even though he’s known to be pretty sharp on the microphone and that’s what the biggest selling point of his professional fights have been. But the most surprising reaction appeared to be from a fellow Irishman, who claimed that he didn’t associate him with ‘The Notorious’. “Who’s we mate, you don’t speak for me or other Irish people.”

That fan added, “You can see the stress on her face every time he starts talking hahahaha.”
