Footage from the second episode of his documentary series showed a glimpse of the UFC 246 post-fight press conference. There, a reporter congratulated the ‘Mystic Mac’ for his victory over Cerrone, and asked if there were any changes McGregor incorporated in his preparations since his defeat at the hands of Nurmagomedov.
‘The Notorious’ revealed that it was his commitment that changed the course of his fight against Cerrone. With a KO within 40 seconds, the Irish fighter won over the fans’ hearts again. However, he was as humble as a monk could be. He admitted that he disappointed the fans and everyone who believed in him, at UFC 229. This became the motivation, and he rose victorious with a KO at UFC 246.
McGregor said, “Yeah, just my commitment. You know, I just felt like I disrespected the people that believed in me and supported me, and… and that’s what led me to re-center myself, and, and get back to where I was at.” His words indeed won over the world.
