With a record of 18 victories and 5 defeats, Nate Landwehr is a surging prospect in the stacked featherweight division. Having won four out of his last five fights inside the UFC Octagon, ‘The Train’ will look to bag another victory at the UFC 310 as the fighter is scheduled to take on Doo-Ho Choi at the UFC’s final pay-per-view event of the year next month. Despite a rocky start in the promotion, including two KO losses, Landwehr has shown immense growth in his last few fights, with a spectacular first-round KO over Jamall Emmers at UFC on ESPN 54.

While having a conversation with ‘Middle Easy’, Nate Landwehr explained the horror their family had to go through, “It’s just like a fight, man, you just got to keep fighting. Um, yeah, I don’t know if you knew – we had to go through IVF, so IVF is like, they got to go in, they got to strip my wife’s eggs, and they fertilize them. So we ended up with X amount of embryos that were valuable. And we had five boy embryos and we had one girl embryo. So we tried to put the girl in a little bit ago. She… she attached, and she just didn’t quite make it. Her name was going to be June Marie”

‘The Train’ reflected on the future that he imagined with his daughter – the moments of walking her down the aisle, confronting her boyfriends, and protecting her from the world. He had carefully envisioned the moments but life had other plans for him.  At the end, Landwehr stated “It just wasn’t meant to be. But, you know, we… we had her name. You know, her name would have been June. She was going to be born in May, but she didn’t quite make it. And yeah, I mean, it hurts.”

Landwehr’s wife, Rob͏͏yn gave a tribute to her unborn daughter by posting a heartwrenching confession from her side, “To our little Junebug, our one and only little girl. Mommy had the honor to carry you for a very short time, but you were and still will be loved for a lifetime. For as long as mommy and daddy shall live. You’ll never be forgotten my sweet sweet girl, you’re forever in our hearts 9.2024. June Marie.” As the family mourns the loss of their beloved, ‘The Train’ has an opportunity to channel his grief.

Landwehr plans to come blazing against Doo-Ho Choi

Nate Landwehr might be heartbroken after the serious loss but this has not stopped him from working hard to make sure he gets the win. Ready to be back to the Octagon, ‘The Train’ has a high-stakes match ahead of him as a win at UFC 310 fight will definitely propel him up the rankings. When asked about the hype surrounding their featherweight clash and how he sees things playing out, Landwehr emphasized that he wants to win a performance bonus at the end of the fight.

“Yeah man, you’ve been putting that in the air. I was expecting that kind of (fight) when I was fighting Dan Ige and it didn’t play out. It was a decent fight, but that’s, kind of, one of my biggest regrets in the UFC since I’ve been there so far. I can accept getting knocked out by Herbert Burns, but it weighs on me. It should’ve been kill or be killed in that last round (against Ige). Every fight I’ve been in has been a bonus except that fight,” said Landwehr.

He further added, “I’m gonna try to protect myself this time, but I’m just gonna come out guns blazing — swinging and we’re gonna see what happens.” We are just 10 days away from witnessing the anticipated match.
