Talks of Conor McGregor making his much-awaited comeback are hotter than ever now. With UFC 300 reportedly set for April, many are predicting the Irishman and his TUF 31 rival coach Michael Chandler to headline the event. Ever since their TUF stint was announced, predictions have been flying around about their matchups. However, there is one man who wants no involvement in picking sides for the prospective bout.

One of Conor McGregor’s fiercest rivals, Nate Diaz, was recently thrown a question about the Chandler bout. The first man to hand McGregor a loss in the UFC, Diaz had the most hilarious response to the question. What’s more, Chandler was standing a few inches away from his when the incident went down. Let’s take a look at this exchange.

Michael Chandler and Conor McGregor have a fierce rivalry going on between them. The pair almost came to blows on TUF 31 but Dana White intervened in time. Now, the pair have the opportunity to go at it but McGregor’s return is still anything but confirmed. That is why, when Nate Diaz and Michael Chandler met, the two couldn’t help but talk about the McGregor fight.

Diaz, an old rival of McGregor’s, was seen with Chandler and some others in an elevator. He seemed to be asking the lightweight whether he was fighting Conor McGregor or not. Chandler responded in a way that made it evident that he was still doubtful about whether the fight would actually happen.

An interviewer then asked Chandler how he saw the fight going down. “Second round KO.” Chandler answered, curtly but confidently. The interviewer then asked him if he really saw that fight ending that way, when Chandler further explained. “Just warm him up in the first, he breaks in the second“. After this, the interviewer turned to Nate Diaz and asked him about his thoughts on the matter.

Don’t be involving…[inaudible],” said Diaz as everyone, including Chandler, broke into laughter. Nate Diaz didn’t want to be involved in the discussion and he made it abundantly clear with a touch of humor.

There was a rumor that suggested that Conor McGregor might be making his return to the UFC at UFC 300. However, who he would be fighting was still doubtful, since he had called out a lot of fighters, including UFC BMF champ Justin Gaethje. UFC CEO Dana White dismissed all these rumors at the UFC 295 press conference. He said that McGregor has been wanting to fight and get back into the Octagon but there is no fixed date for his return. Now this could very well be a PR tactic that the UFC head honcho is resorting to, and it wouldn’t be the first time that he did that.

What’s more, is that McGregor recently sent out a Tweet saying that he is ready to take on anybody that the UFC wants him to fight – and that the UFC can even surprise him with his opponent. A tall claim to make, but the former lightweight champ has the record and the prowess to back it up. With so much going on, it is hard to tell if McGregor is actually coming back at UFC 300 or not.
