Nate Diaz just posted on X saying, “I think you’d be surprised.” Now what does this mean? Hold up because to understand the meaning of this cryptic note, we need to examine the recent incidents between him and the former UFC heavyweight-turned-podcaster. Brendan Schaub has continued his attack on the Stockton native as the former insists that he would easily defeat Diaz in a fight. Schaub last fought in the UFC in December of 2014 when he was KO-ed by Travis Browne. Since then, he has had a successful podcast and stand-up comedy career, after hanging his gloves once and for all.

However, recently, Schaub’s desire to beat Diaz emerged when the latter mocked him for crying over former interim heavyweight champion Shane Carwin’s CTE struggles. Schaub was reading out about Carwin’s battle with CTE which made him tear up. Shane is smart amongst smart people, he noted during his podcast. “The Stockton Slugger, decided to post about this on X and wrote, “Brendan the big ol pus** Schaub.”

Naturally, this post enraged the MMA veteran who insisted that he could easily defeat the former lightweight title contender. “Oooh buddy. I prob got 20lbs on you so not too far off,” he replied on X. “I’ll snap your neck. Set up a grappling match and let me know how it goes for you. Have one of your handlers read this tweet and get back to me.”

What made Nate Diaz and Brendan Schaub hostile towards each other?

It all started in 2017 at the ‘May-Mac’ boxing bout between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Conor McGregor when Diaz and Schaub ran into each other backstage. According to the video clips online, Schaub wanted to converse with Diaz when the latter suddenly attacked Schaub with inaudible expletives.

The former heavyweight presented his verdict in the ‘Joe Rogan Experience: Mayweather vs. McGregor Recap with Brendan Schaub’. He said that he was trying tohelp outin marketing a third fight with McGregor. “I’m like ‘Bro, Nate, how about that fight man? You’re next, biggest fight in UFC history, brother.’ And he starts laughing. He’s like ‘Oh, hell no. How f—-ng stupid do you look now? How stupid do you look, talking all this sh-t?’” Schaub added.

In a heated exchange, Nate Diaz raised his middle finger at Brendan Schaub, who responded by accusing Diaz of avoiding confrontation. “This is what triggered him. He was talking, and I literally couldn’t hear him because people were like ‘Schaub, let’s go’ because they didn’t want a fight. And he keeps talking, and I’m like ‘Nate, use your words. I can’t understand a word you’re saying. Use your words.’ And he probably has that lisp, or whatever, that probably set him off. But, I have no issues with Nate, there’s nothing there, Schaub stated. This is what started their feud in the first place and now we are here.

So this historic fight continues and we are left to see what the former UFC HW replies to this latest jibe that Diaz took at him. Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
