Nate Diaz recently talked with Ariel Helwani in an interview. Diaz hasn’t fought since his UFC 244 loss against Jorge Masvidal in 2019. Fans want to see the Stockton native back in action sooner rather than later, as he is one of the finest entertainers the UFC has ever had. Diaz though has kept an eye on the current landscape of the UFC.
He didn’t quite like how UFC lightweight champion Khabib ‘The Eagle’ Nurmagomedov has carried himself since defeating Conor McGregor at UFC 229 in 2018. Diaz believes Nurmagomedov has been hiding since his win over ‘The Notorious’ as that is the Dagestani’s biggest achievement in his career.
“Well, I’m just saying like, it was all everything was for him and his favor and like, what Khabib’s doing right now is what I probably should have done. They learned that from me not doing that too, you know,” said Diaz.

“I’m saying they’re hiding in the hills. Like, that’s all his biggest accomplishments when he is hiding out. I was like, not gonna do that. I ain’t no punk,” he added.
Nurmagomedov has competed twice since defeating McGregor. He has announced retirement after successfully defending his throne at UFC 254. Whether the undefeated Russian fights again will be seen.

Nate Diaz vs Khabib Nurmagomedov: a dream fight
Diaz and Nurmagomedov is a fight that has never been booked. But it would have been a fantastic spectacle for the fans had they ever fought, to say the least. Diaz is a fantastic jiu-jitsu player which could prove handy against Nurmagomedov’s dominant wrestling skills. Also, his stand-up game is one of the best in the game.
We would have been in for a 5-round war had they ever fought. But the chances of that fight happening are very slim on the current landscape.
