It seems like Nate Diaz keeps running into altercations whenever he steps out somewhere! The Stockton native chose not to re-sign with the UFC in 2022 and has since made a move to the squared circle. In his first fight as a boxer, he took on Jake Paul in August 2023, where he came up short against ‘The Problem Child’ in a unanimous decision. But that wasn’t his first brush with drama outside the cage. In fact, his rivalry with Paul had already sparked chaos.
Back in October 2022, Diaz and his team got into a backstage brawl with Paul’s camp during his boxing match with UFC legend Anderson Silva. What started it? No one knows for sure. But footage showed Diaz dishing out his signature ‘Stockton Slaps’ left and right. Security had to step in, eventually asking Diaz to leave the event.

Fast forward to April 2023, and another altercation made headlines. This time, a viral video showed Diaz choking out a man in New Orleans. The result? A second-degree battery charge, which was later dropped after authorities determined Diaz acted in self-defense.
Now, another unlucky individual found himself on the wrong side of Diaz! In a video shared on Instagram by ‘XcellentMMA’ Diaz can be seen getting into it with a bouncer outside a club which then devolves into a shoving contest. The ‘Stockton Slapper’ squares up but ultimately the people surrounding him intervene and things don’t escalate any further. This has led to a wave of responses from the fans online and here’s a look at what the netizens had to say.
Fans aren’t surprised after Nate Diaz’s latest drama
Since the video doesn’t have any context attached to it which shows what kicked off the altercation, one fan claimed that it appears as though Nate Diaz is “wasted” in the footage. It’s hard to tell, but the Stockton native isn’t one to back away from a fight, whether it’s a bouncer or top heavyweights in boxing! In a post made on X earlier this year, Diaz stated, “Anthony Joshua, Deontay Wilder, Tyson Fury, I’ll whoop all your a–es. Just so u know”
“have no idea of the context but Nate looks like he’s wasted doing way too much”
Others blasted Diaz for his age as they claimed that being “40 years old” and getting into fights isn’t exactly age-appropriate behavior. Diaz is still 39, however, but the fan’s assertion does hold some weight with the number of brawls the Stockton native has gotten into lending more credence to their claims.
“40 years old and still acting like a teenager grew up”
But is it something that is out of the ordinary? One fan pointed out that both Nick and Nate have made a name for themselves by fighting anywhere, anyone, and at any time. In fact, Nick Diaz got his start in unsanctioned bare-knuckle MMA matches before he went professional in 2021. A legacy Nate appears to be carrying on in the streets!

As mentioned above, the frequency with which Nate Diaz gets into altercations is something the fans have gotten used to at this point in his career.
“This happens every two months”
Another fan brought up an interesting point as they mentioned that the bouncer should have been aware of who was standing in front of him. After all, Nate Diaz is one of the most iconic fighters in the UFC and with multiple incidents of him getting into it with people, it would have been better if the bouncer had handled the situation better. “Do they not know or they blind”
In the end, it seems Nate Diaz can’t escape the chaos, whether it’s inside the cage or out on the streets. From backstage brawls to taking on bouncers, Diaz has remained true to his reputation of being a fighter, through and through. The reactions indicate that the fans have come to expect this side of Diaz, but is it time for the ‘Stockton Slapper’ to change his ways? Let us know what you think in the comments below!
