Nate Diaz returns to action this weekend at UFC 263. The Stockton native is set to fight Leon Edwards in a 5-round welterweight clash. Diaz hasn’t fought since his UFC 244 loss to Jorge Masvidal. But, given his training methods and ready for war mentality, one can expect him to be ready when the bell rings this weekend.
As one of the top athletes in the world, Diaz follows a steady training routine. He is always working and grinding. The likes of Gilbert Melendez, Jake Shields, and his brother Nick Diaz are always there in the Nick Diaz academy. Apart from that, boxing coach Richard Perez, kickboxer Joe Schilling, and jiu-jitsu specialist Kron Gracie is there to help him train.

Diaz trains at least twice a day. However, in his build up to the fights those sessions can increase. Especially if there’s a yoga day or weight day. Training sessions are usually longer for him.

Nate Diaz weight training
Diaz doesn’t do heavy weights. Instead, he keeps them medium that helps him with the functionality and movement inside the Octagon. Also, those methods help him to be in shape.

Certainly those methods help him. He stepped up on a short notice to take on Conor McGregor at UFC 196 while partying. But the Stockton native managed to win the fight. While McGregor was an undefeated fighter in the UFC then, Diaz’s toughness proved to be too much for him. That only shows the science behind Diaz’s methods.
Nate Diaz triathlon training
Nate Diaz’s most impeccable attribute is his legendary endurance. That comes from his triathlon training. Fighters usually do triathlon for getting advantage in fighting. For Diaz, it’s the other way around. The Stockton native has said multiple times that he fights so that he can get money to do more races.

Him and his brother Nick Diaz both do triathlons year round. They are two of the most durable pressure fighters in all combat sports. A lot of biking, running, swimming involve his triathlon trainings.
Also, Nate loves to go hiking and mountain climbing. He always says, “I train to kill.” Those are not just for the sake of publicity. In fact, when he says that, he means it. One will have to wait and see how his methods help him this weekend at UFC 263 as he prepares to fight Leon Edwards.
