39-year-old Nate Diaz is all set to take on Jorge Masvidal in a boxing clash next in his career. The pair previously met at UFC 244 in 2019 for the BMF title and Diaz lost the fight via knockout because of a doctor’s stoppage. However, he can now settle the score once and for all when they face each other inside a boxing ring. Diaz has had some of the most extreme battles inside the Octagon with some of the sport’s biggest stars. His most impressive battle was against Conor McGregor. Talking about his UFC 196 clash, Joe Rogan, in a throwback video, already predicted about his victory.
Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz have fought with each other twice in their career. Currently, the score is settled at 1-1 and the fans are hoping for a trilogy fight soon. The pair met each other for the first time at UFC 196 and Diaz surprised everyone with his performance. He won the fight via submission in the second round, much to the delight of the fans. However, it seems UFC color commentator Joe Rogan already knew about it. In a throwback video on YouTube, while speaking to Brendan Schaub, he said, “I thought Nate was going to beat him just by first of all the size and length and deceptive boxing skills.”
Rogan has witnessed some of the best athletes in the UFC from close quarters and has good knowledge of the sport. He further used his expertise to claim, “That’s what I thought. Like this is going to be the first guy that Conor’s ever fought that’s been in wars with, like all legends. I mean, he’s been there with a lot of f…ng high-level dudes. He’s a monster. I’m like this is a big, big fight, and this is not a fight you want to take even if he’s not ready on 11 days’ notice. You got to get ready for this dude. And his jiu-jitsu is off the chain.”

Conor McGregor was all set to make a return to the Octagon at UFC 303 in the main-event clash. However, he had to pull out at the last moment because of an injury. The Dubliner broke his toe during his preparation, which has now delayed his return. Since then, the former dual champion has faced a lot of criticism from experts. However, he has now found himself a new supporter in Nate Diaz.
Before his boxing clash with Jorge Masvidal, he sat down for a chat with Demetrious Johnson on his YouTube channel. Johnson asked him about his opinion on the injury which happened to McGregor. In a surprising turn of events, Diaz came out in support of his longtime rival and said, “That’s experience, you know, he was f***** up when he fought his last fight and I’ve been f***** up in hella fights and I don’t want to like to cry about it afterwards ‘cuz your a** shouldn’t have came to fight if you was f***** up, that’s how I think about it.”
