Known for his bombastic, arrogant, and outspoken persona, Conor McGregor is a markedly different person when he is with his kids. The Irishman is a father of four beautiful children; two sons, Conor Jr. and Rian, and one daughter, Croia, while he welcomed his fourth child, Mack, last year with his long-time fiancee, Dee Devlin. His social media feed is full of him doting on his children, whether having them practice their combinations on him, or taking them on family outings to parks and picnics so he could spend quality time with them.

McGregor is the very picture of a loving father. All of this experience has made him somewhat of an expert, as he was seen comforting a crying child in his Black Forge Inn. Using a unique technique, where he held the adorable, round-eyed baby on their torso and started rocking them back and forth gently and lovingly, telling the parents, “If you hold the baby like this, the baby stops crying.” This caused the previously upset baby to calm down, upon which he was handed back to his parents, who thanked ‘Mac’ for it.

McGregor was touched by this encounter as he put the video on his Instagram Stroy, with a long caption. The Irishman set the scene for his fans, writing that he took the crying baby and gave him the patented McGregor back-and-forth as he had done with his own babies, drawing reactions online.

“This baby was crying prior to this so I was showing my patrons of The Black Forge that if you hold a baby like this and a gentle rock back and forth, the baby will stop crying. You are welcome. They tried to say things about how I hold my children throughout the years, but I always said: “Daddy knows,”” he wrote. And fans were delighted to see this more tender side of McGregor.

Fans took to the comments section of the post and shared their pleasure at seeing McGregor expertly handle the baby. One fan felt this baby-calming maneuver showed how good of a father McGregor was, remarking: “These are things good dad’s just know about their kids.”

Another found it heart-warming to see him doting on the child and said that ‘Mac’s estimation went up in his book: “@thenotoriousmma people can say what they want about you, but the seeing the joy coming from you displaying dad skills makes you a winner in my book any day 👏.” Another simply commended the Irishman for being a “Good dad.” 

One fan felt that the fact McGregor had risen from virtual poverty to provide his family with a fantastic life made him above reproach, “Man is literally providing a life for his loved ones that the majority will never come close to. How can anyone talk s**t on the man? That’s just crazy.” Meanwhile, a social media user predicted that the baby seemed glad to be held by ‘The Notorious’, the biggest superstar in MMA history: “Lil man is just exited the goat is holding him.” 

A fan observed how sharp and healthy ‘Mac’ was looking ahead of his UFC 303 comeback bout: “Conor’s looking so lean and healthy. 💪🏻🙏🏻 Happy also! Love to see it.” Another agreed with this sentiment: “He looks similar to his old self.” A social media user also felt that the new update of McGregor has dropped this week as he was seen embracing a tree earlier and giving pro tips to parents now: “New mythical Conor this week. Tree Hugger and Life coach Conor.”

Fans, of course, are heartened to see a happy and healthy McGregor as the former champion sets up for his much-awaited comeback bout. He will face Michael Chandler at the top of UFC 303 on June 29, which will be his first octagon appearance after three years because of a freak injury he suffered last time around on UFC 264.

With the clock ticking on his career, many fear Chandler may expose McGregor as not being able to compete with the top guys in the division because of his advanced age, injury, a string of losses, and a general decline in athletic ability. Even if that turns out to be true and his MMA career may be coming to an end, McGregor seemingly has a long, successful, and happy career as a father ahead of him.
