The UFC heavyweight prospect, Chris Barnett, entertained the UFC fans first with his charismatic dance moves during the walkout. And later stunned everyone with a spinning wheel kick knockout in the second round of the bout.

During his interview with BT Sport after his victory, a journalist asked Barnett about his reaction if he didn’t receive the bonus for his knockout. Barnett claimed he would be humble in any situation and also shared an emotional story.

He said, “I stay humble. That was one that I am never gonna forget. That’s the fight, like yeah, I did that. But that one right there that was some icing on the cake. My Pops had a stroke recently, and those were some of the moves that we used to work on. To be able to pull it off and be in that moment and here I am.”

“Chris throw the fake spin. I actually won my first Georgian national championship that way. With the spinning hook kick to the head like this. So yeah, having history repeats itself. Not have him here physically with me, but mentally you know that right there that’s one reason I got so emotional after I landed. Just to think I know he’s watching and boom. I am probably going nuts back home.”

“I gotta call him immediately. He is probably going to yell at me for the rest of the performances. It will be like 70 30 yelling, you know what I am saying. He will give me you didn’t move enough. You didn’t do this, you didn’t do that, and your kick was okay. But you know what I will take that. I love my pops to death. And thank him so much again.”

Chris Barnett Aims for a Rematch With His Old Opponent Next

The heavyweight fighter Chris Barnett has an amazing professional fighting career of 22-7 under his name. He made his UFC debut this year in May. Unfortunately, he faced a devastating loss in his debut fight at the hands of the American fighter, Ben Rothwell.

However, Barnett has now found his way to the win column with a win at UFC 268 and desires to enter the octagon as soon as possible. The 35-year-old wants to face anyone out of the top 10 contenders in the division, as he doesn’t want to rush things up.

Interestingly, Barnett had a few names on his mind that he would like to clash with. In the post-fight interview, the fighter called out Allen Crowder. He also expressed his interest in a rematch with the fighter who defeated him in his UFC debut, I.e. Ben Rothwell.
