After a long hiatus from the octagon, Jon Jones, widely regarded as one of the greatest fighters of all time, is set to make his highly anticipated return to the UFC in a heavyweight bout against Ciryl Gane at UFC 285. Fans of the sport have been eagerly awaiting his comeback, and the youngest champion title winner in the history of the promotion himself has been working hard to prepare for the challenge.

‘Bones’ appeared in a recent interview with Alexander Volkanovski and Robert Whittaker on Fox Sports. The interview gave fans many fun moments between the three fighters. ‘The Great’ asked Jones a question about bulking since the former also bulked up for a fight against Islam Makhachev recently. The 26-1- record holder then talked about his experience bulking up for his move to the heavyweight division.

When asked about the difficulties he faced in gaining weight, Jones shared some insights into the challenges he had to overcome. He mentioned having to eat large amounts of rice, which was fairly difficult for him. “It was a lot of rice, man. I had to learn to eat eggs and rice, and lunch with rice, and steak with rice”, Jones said. He also revealed that he was consuming a lot of fish and chicken.

‘Bones’ also talked about the sheer amount of food he was eating would sometimes can his jaw to hurt. “It became tedious! there were some days where I felt like my mouth hurt, like my jaw hurt just from eating the meals. It became miserable,” said Jones.

Another shocking thing that he revealed was that he sometimes had to “blend food sometimes to just swallow it down”. Despite the challenges, the former light heavyweight champ spoke about how he has come to love the fitness lifestyle. He used to dislike weightlifting, but now he never misses a workout.

He explained that at 250 pounds; he is able to eat better and sleep better. This has made a big difference in his overall health and well-being.

As for the upcoming fight against Ciryl Gane, fans are excited to see how Jones will fare in the heavyweight division. ‘Bon Gamin’, who is known for his striking skills and impressive record, will provide a tough challenge for the returning former champ. However, Jones has always been known for his incredible athleticism, technical skills, and ability to adapt to any opponent.
