According to Schaub, Joe Rogan significantly encouraged him to switch from fighting and explore new avenues. However, this shift didn’t sit well with his family. Schaub candidly revealed, “My family was really mad at Joe. I told Joe this: my dad was pissed, my brother at him for that.”
Brendan Schaub’s last fight in the UFC occurred at UFC 181, where he faced Travis Browne and suffered an opening-round knockout loss in 2014. Following this setback, Schaub chose a different career path altogether. He turned his focus to new pursuits, eventually establishing himself as a successful podcaster, running the ‘Thiccc Boy’ podcast and simultaneously appears on other shows, too.
