Gold is a metal that many perceive as a symbol of wealth and power. Many celebrities often sport gold jewelry whenever they make public appearances. However, Joe Rogan does not seem to be a fan of the valued metal. Instead, the 56-year-old is intrigued by another metal, which he could consider as jewelry.
Since ancient times, gold is a metal that has enjoyed a prestigious position in society, being highly sought after and even worshipped. Its timeless appeal as both a decorative element and a medium of transaction has transcended eras. But that is still not enough to convince Joe Rogan about having jewelry made out of gold. Joe Rogan is mostly a fitness fanatic and a martial arts enthusiast. He never tries to be too flashy with his outfits and appearance, which explains why jewelry is something he doesn’t like to wear. However, the JRE host recently revealed that if he had to wear some kind of jewelry, then he would choose a silver one because he disliked gold. During a recent JRE episode with journalist and National Geographic Channel correspondent, Mariana van Zeller, he said, “I don’t get it [and] I don’t even like it. I don’t like gold jewelry. I like silver. Silver looks pretty good to me.”
Moreover, Joe Rogan revealed his fascination with the fact that people crave gold. Even though it’s a rare metal, he doesn’t understand why they put so much on the line for an object such as metal. “I get that people like it. It’s rare. It’s weird that it’s rare. Not that it’s [that] rare, it’s weird that we care,” the 56-year-old added. Meanwhile, Rogan also argued that there are better objects than gold available in nature.
JRE host claims there are prettier things than gold
Joe Rogan is of the belief that there is not much people can do with gold. This is a reason why he is perplexed about the reality of how people have labeled it as the most valuable object in the world. Rogan further stated, “It doesn’t even do anything. It’s not like you can make a weapon out of it. How that did that stuff ever become the thing that is universally regarded as the most valuable [thing].”

Meanwhile, he claimed that objects like gemstones are much prettier than gold to look at and should have the same amount of value as the metal. “Cuz it’s pretty? There’s a lot of sh*t that’s pretty… you know, how come rubies aren’t worth as much? There’s a lot of stuff that’s pretty,” Joe Rogan further added.

With instances of people buying gold smartphones, gold-colored cars, and other possible commodities, it does not look like the metal will lose its value anytime soon.
