The world loves the 55-year-old UFC commentator, Joe Rogan, for a number of reasons. One was obviously for his brilliant commentary at the world’s biggest MMA promotion. Furthermore, people love him for the candid conversations he has on his show, ‘The Joe Rogan Experience’. In each episode of the show, Rogan discusses a wide range of subjects with his guests. One thing that makes the podcast stand out is how Rogan patiently listens to the guest with all his ears and then adds his knowledge related to the subject. The show was a huge success on YouTube, following which the podcast giant Spotify bought JRE. The deal was said to be worth over $200 million. Spotify made the deal public in May 2020, which would last for three years.
The guests of the show are the most integral part; the color commentator makes sure that he brings guests from different fields of interest. Some of them would not even have a remote connection to the UFC. Nonetheless, Rogan loves to listen to them. The guest on the #1949 episode of the show was Russell Brand. When there are just a few months left before the deal’s renewal, Rogan reveals what makes people love JRE.

While having a conversation with Brand, Rogan revealed how the entire show works at his will. Rogan also mentioned why he loves doing the show. The podcaster said, “I have been very fortunate that I have been able to do this without anybody’s input. No one would have ever have a say.”
The UFC commentator further detailed, “I want to have a bunch of guys like we do this show ‘Protect our Parks’ where we all do mushrooms and get drunk and just four comedians. Just being completely ridiculous. And, then the next day I will have a legitimate psychologist on and I will talk about fear and anxiety and what goes in the brain and what causes trauma. And then the next day, I will have an MMA fighter on.”
It is curiosity that runs the show
Rogan, while talking further on the topic, said it is entirely up to him who to bring as a guest on the show. He alone can choose to bring a world traveler or a guy who loves mountaineering. The 55-year-old talked about how he has brought a bat scientist and a beekeeper to the show.
The guest undoubtedly talks about their area of interest, and Rogan’s curiosity compels him to listen to them. He says, “That’s the only thread to the whole thing. So they are interesting to me. I have a wide range of interests.”
