Raul Rosas Jr. became the youngest signee in UFC history but failed to keep up his vows. After defeating Mando Gutierrez, Rosas Jr. earned his rightful place in the Dana White’s Contender Series. In a post-fight interview, ‘El Nino Problema’ vouched that he is far from done making UFC history but fate had other plans.
Rosas Jr. disclosed his plan to break Jon Jones‘ staggering achievement of winning a UFC title at only 23 years of age. Although only 18, the promising fighter was humbled in his last outing, which served as a rough start to his lofty dreams. After the losing attempt, Dana White’s youngest protégé has now made a new revelation that has fans intrigued.

El Nino Problema’s swift attempts at taking down Christian Rodriguez at UFC 287 were ineffective, given the latter’s solid defense. However, Rodriguez has acknowledged that Rosas Jr. could still very well prove to be a threat with his innate talent and room to grow.

The young highflyer has since learned his lesson that led him back to the ‘drawing board.’ During a recent interview, he shared his excitement to display all his takeaways and progress from the last match. “I corrected every single mistake; the pace, trying to get the finish, the gameplan, the strategy. All those things were corrected and now I’m more experienced,” says Rosas.
Pondering upon his lessons, Rosas Jr. has said, “There was a lot of things I took from the last fight and I am just excited to go in Saturday and show all the corrections I made from the last one. And I am glad it’s on a Special day … You know… So Saturday night we are gonna shine.”

This comes in reference to the highly anticipated Noche UFC, and is more special for the young Mexican, given it’s also the ‘Mexican Independence Day.’ He has gleefully stated, “When I made my debut, there was a lot of Mexican flags, so I can only imagine [what it’ll look like] Saturday night on Mexican Independence Day.”
“It’s just a dream coming into reality” redemption or another loss for Rosas Jr.?
During a promotion for the event, when asked about his takeaways from his last loss, Rosas Jr. says, “Yeah, for sure. There was a lot of mistakes done on the last fight, on the last time…So I’m just excited to this time, you know, like it’s a great opportunity for my comeback. And I’m going to have a lot of eyes on me on my comeback.” The 18-year-old is certainly looking forward to redemption with fresh moves and more experience.

When asked about his opponent Terrence Mitchell, the young star exclaims that he respects him- “He’s a very experienced fighter so I’m glad I get to face him and show my skills against an experienced fighter and finish him because it will show everything I’ve improved.” Rosas Jr. is not keen to repeat his mistakes again and underestimate his opponent again. Consequently, he seems rather confident that good things are in store for him this Saturday, reinstating that he is expecting nothing short of ‘war’, ready to get his ‘hand raised’.
