UFC commentator Joe Rogan has been in the middle of controversies numerous times in the past. Not many would have forgotten how celebrities and fans turned against him for using the N-word during an old podcast episode. Back then, Rogan had the support of UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya. Adesanya is one of the most popular UFC fighters with a huge fanbase and when ‘Stylebender’ took Rogan’s side in 2022, many were shocked.

After listening to Adesanya support Rogan in a crucial situation, the UFC commentator was left teary-eyed. Back then, Adesanya also talked about the issue in the podcast Flagrant 2, which was hosted by Joe Rogan’s best buddy Andrew Schulz. The UFC middleweight kingpin believed that a group of people were deliberately trying to attack Rogan after his Spotify podcast became a huge hit. When Israel Adesanya opened up about the N-word controversy of Joe Rogan

A year ago, Israel Adesanya appeared on the podcast Flagrant 2. It was a time when Rogan’s N-word controversy was raging on. In 2022, the UFC commentator came under fire when singer India Arie posted a compilation video of the 56-year-old saying the N-word 24 times on his podcast. Soon afterward, Rogan apologized for using the word in JRE as the majority turned against him.

Things even escalated to a point where his $200 million deal with Spotify would come to an end. Adesanya, who felt that Rogan should be forgiven, opened up about how many people targeted the UFC commentator. The video of the podcast has surfaced now in which Schulz said, “I don’t know if you and Rogan spoke but I was talking to him about it and he said it made him tear up man. ” 

After listening, Adesanya said, “I love that dude, man. Look alright, we know what’s going on. You know like that’s why I said f*ck the noise because it’s like if we don’t focus on what they want you to focus on.

He further added, “Why they’re doing what they’re doing now? Do you know how much manpower it takes for someone to go through every single episode of the JRE? They probably had a whole team on that sh*t… Find where he was using the n-word and just like they would have had like 10 people on that sh*t yeah and hours of f*cking footage.The Nigerian fighter strongly believed that many were deliberately targeting Rogan.

‘Stylebender’ appreciates Rogan for handling everything well

During the same interview, Adesanya also talked about the issues Rogan faced for spreading misinformation about the Coronavirus vaccines. After listening to Rogan’s take on the vaccines, rock legend Neil Young asked to remove his songs from Spotify. Later, many supported Young for protesting against Joe Rogan. The UFC middleweight champion addressed both of these issues and appreciated Rogan for handling them well.

Adesanya was impressed when Rogan calmly handled Young by making his side clear. Later, he also agreed that the JRE podcaster made a mistake by using the N-word. However, Rogan later apologized for doing so.
