While being a part of the UFC 293 Q&A session, Justin Gaethje left no ambiguity in his statement while considering himself an ideal guy who could fight Makhachev. He shed light on his statements, considering his dominant performance against ‘Diamond’ in Salt Lake City. But first, he had something to say about the importance of that title.

“I think there’s no doubt the undisputed championship is the biggest fight in the world. Um, that’s at the top of every single one of us, you know, up here in any fighter that steps in there that’s our goal.” Said Gaethje.

Making his intentions clear, he further said, ” Um I think Volkanovski had his chance. You know I think if I didn’t finish Dustin the way I did then you know he’d have a better argument because he gave Makhachev such a good fight.” In fact, ‘The Highlight’ kept a reason in his mind that could help him become a number one contender.

“But the fact that I knocked out Dustin Poirier, the number 2 guy in the world, got the BMF title. There is no doubt in my mind that I’m next in line for that fight.” Said Gaethje. Apparently, the BMF champion is ready to battle for the lightweight title. However, during the same interview, he had some other wants as well.

It was all because of a question that came from a fan who asked Gaethje about McGregor. Considering the same doubt, the 34-year-old made some blunt statements about McGregor.

He said that he was eager to face McGregor and wanted to end his career. He even mentioned how McGregor was intending to target Michael Chandler, whom he convincingly beat during UFC 268.
