But, ‘Meatball’ came out of the closet 6 years ago and opened up about her dating Ellis Clark back in 2022. McCann was born in Liverpool on the 4th of May, 1990. She was raised in the Norris Green area and spent quite a bit of time with her grandmother. After all, it was her granny who raised her in her late father’s absence. Her mother, Sharon, was a victim of substance abuse, but with her vigilance and support, she stayed clean for about 22 years, back in 2020.

But that’s not everyone from the McCann family. ‘Meatball’ has roots lying around in Ireland, and is actually related to the Olympic gold medalist boxer, Katie Taylor. In an interview with MMA Fighting, McCann revealed, “I’ve got family in Ireland, in Bray actually. You won’t believe this, but I’m actually related to Katie Taylor. We traced our family tree and it turns out that my granddad is her granddad.” Three of McCann’s grandparents hail from Ireland, giving the UFC fighter her Irish heritage.

And as far as Pimblett is concerned, the duo cleared the air out long ago. ‘The Baddy’ claimed that McCann was like an elder sister to him. Fighting out of the same locality, the duo even train at the same gym, Next Generation MMA’. Weighing in on the fans’ doubts regarding her relationship with Pimblett, McCann said, “You’ll never meet another Patrick Pimblett or Molly McCann. I don’t know if it’s because I’m a girl and he’s a boy, but we push each other to be better versions of ourselves and don’t envy each other’s success.”
