UFC executive Hunter Campbell and Jeff Novitzky attended a media scrum following the USADA’s statement regarding the end of their partnership. Although they are about to sever ties with USADA, they already have in mind whom they want to work with next. Hunter Campbell mentioned that the UFC will start working with Drug Free Sports International. It is an independent body that is known for its work with the NFL, NBA, and FIFA.
“Jeff and I were talking horse racing, who was all but encouraged strongly by Congress to get a deal done with USADA. [It] wasn’t able to do so in the last 18 months and they went with a company called Drug Free Sport, which is an entity we’re gonna move to as well,” said Hunter Campbell.
It is only a matter of time before we see how Drug Free Sport International works its way with the UFC and its fighters. Moreover, when it comes to USADA, the UFC had some more things to say about the way they went about their business.
UFC called out USADA for their claims about Conor McGregor
During the media scrum, Hunter Campbell also mentioned about USADA’s claims about ‘The Notorious’. He did not like the way the doping agency used Conor McGregor to put forward a fake narrative about the UFC. Campbell said, “What they’ve done to him [McGregor] is disgusting. And for an entity that holds themselves out to have a level of honor and integrity, using him as a media vehicle to advance a fake narrative is disturbing, disgusting.” (5:35)

Moreover, the UFC has also threatened the USADA to take legal action. As such, they have demanded a formal apology by Thursday. Since both organizations are now in an uncomfortable position with each other, Campbell believes that the next few months of working together will be a complicated time.

At the end of their time at the presser, Logan Paul decided to throw a water bottle at Dillon Danis. Conor McGregor’s friend retaliated by hitting ‘The Maverick’ with a microphone on his head. Thereafter, Logan Paul went backstage rather quickly before the situation escalated further. However, some reports suggest that Paul might have suffered a cut and the fight could be in jeopardy. We are yet to know about any further developments in the situation. We will have to wait and see if this affects the event at the Manchester Arena.
