Combat sports journalist Ariel Helwani recently mentioned that the UFC had plans for setting Islam Makhachev vs. Charles Oliveira part 2 at UFC 297. However, the lightweight champion’s manager, Ali Abdelaziz, responded to that claim by stating that it was not the case. He claimed that it was fake news.

However, Ali Abdelaziz did not stop there. He went on to take a jibe at Ariel Helwani. He urged fans not to listen to someone who did not have the credentials to even attend UFC events, citing Helwani’s UFC ban. “Guys, please don’t listen to people can’t even get credentials to UFC events fake news b*tch,” said Abdelaziz. Nevertheless, things were about to get heated.

Ariel Helwani did not take a liking to that comment and was not going to back down. He reignited his rivalry with Ali Abdelaziz by pointing out his travel ban issues.

“Hey at least I can get on a plane and leave the country,” said Helwani. We are yet to see how Ali Abdelaziz responds to the statement from the combat sports journalist, as things seem to have heated up between the two personalities.

Dana White sent a threat to Strikeforce before eventually buying the promotion

The UFC acquired Strikeforce in 2011. It was a thriving MMA promotion and gave stiff competition to Dana White’s promotion. But they eventually became a part of the UFC. However, the recent antitrust lawsuit revealed that White contacted the owners of Strikeforce. He informed them that Lorenzo Fertitta was interested in acquiring them. That followed a meeting between the two parties to explore details about the acquisition.

Fertitta was clear about his wish to buy Strikeforce and merge it with the UFC. However, the negotiations reached a stage of no progression. This prompted Dana White to issue a threat to the promotion. He promised to make life difficult for Strikeforce and even its fighters. The UFC CEO was determined to acquire his rival promotion, which he did.

Conor McGregor made a promise to Lil Baby

Former UFC double champion Conor McGregor is gearing up for his potential return to the UFC after submitting his test samples to USADA. Meanwhile, he’s enjoying his time off and recently visited Sky 2.0 in Dubai to attend a concert that featured American rapper Lil Baby. Nonetheless, the ‘Woah’ singer was scheduled to get on the stage a little late. Hence, it was difficult for McGregor to make time to stay a little longer.

‘The Notorious’ noted the issue in a post on his Instagram handle. He stated, “Went to see [Lil Baby] in [Sky 2.0] last night but he didn’t get on till after 4am, I didn’t make it.” Furthermore, Conor McGregor promised Lil Baby that he would surely attend his show the next time he gets a chance while mentioning how much he liked Sky 2.0. “Maybe next time. Awesome spot [Sky 2.0] with [Proper 12 Whishkey] FLOWING,” said McGregor. We Will have to wait and if he attends Lil Baby’s show or misses it again.
