After Leon Edwards’ win over Colby Covington at UFC 296, Belal Muhammad, who was the backup fighter, claimed to be the next title contender. However, ‘Rocky’ dismissed that notion during the post-fight press conference. Moreover, his coach also dismissed Muhammad and preferred Gilbert Burns to be the next challenger. However, ‘Remember the Name’ got backing from his and Khabib Nurmagomedov‘s manager, Ali Abdelaziz.

Ali Abdelaziz believes that Leon Edwards’ team is afraid to go against Belal Muhammad. Also, even though they’ve dismissed him as a potential challenger, Abdelaziz doesn’t think their opinion would matter as much as Dana White’s opinion does.

“Edward T.E.A.M., really fear [Belal Muhammad] but their opinion don’t matter is only one guy Mattar [Dana White] and he already give his word,” tweeted Ali Abdelaziz. We will have to wait and see how the UFC CEO navigates this situation as we wait for the next welterweight title contender.

Dana White promises to make a huge announcement for UFC 300

The UFC CEO recently made some fight announcements for UFC 299 during the UFC 296 post-fight press conference. Recently, Dana White went live on Instagram and made a promise regarding a few fights for the UFC 300 card. He said, “I will be announcing the [UFC] 300 card. Soon. Very soon.”

However, the whole card is yet to be determined, and as such, fans will only get the announcement of a few of them. “Not the whole card. [Only] some of them. So yeah, get ready for that, too,” Dana White added. There have been a lot of speculations about many fighters, including Conor McGregor, making his return at UFC 300. But those speculations will be addressed once White reveals what he has planned for the triple-century event.
