When you are the promoter of one of the fastest-growing combat promotions in the world, sometimes you have to show other players where they belong. That’s what the former UFC champ, Conor McGregor did when he witnessed that the big winners of BKFC on DAZN Hollywood, FL: Warren vs. Richman were getting overlooked when it came to post-fight interviews during the promotion’s final event of 2024.

The former featherweight and lightweight UFC champion took to his X handle to rain hellfire on the DAZN broadcasting team as he wrote, “DAZN, I don’t give a f—,” he tweeted. “If you don’t get our winners on the mic, we are done.” Why was Conor McGregor so furious about it? Well, it seemed like the fight league decided to skip interviews to stop the show from running overtime.

Regardless, did Conor McGregor‘s rant work in his favor? Well, it looks it did as the the BKFC was assured that all of the fighters would be interviewed at all of their events in 2025. From McGregor, let us move forward to news of his arch-rival, Khabib Nurmagomedov.

Australian fighter shares his two cents on Khabib Nurmagomedov’s Ireland fiasco

Ahead of Usman Nurmagomedov’s title defense against Irish Paul Hughes, Khabib Nurmagomedov asserted that the Irish nation has fallen short of producing great MMA talents as he believes that apart from Conor McGregor and Paul Hughes, there’s no potential in that country. “Brother, Ireland don’t have fighters, brother. Let’s be honest,” said Nurmagomedov. He further added, “Let’s be honest. How many fighters do you know from Ireland? Paul Hughes and Conor [McGregor], and who else? There is no fighter, brother. You come to Dagestan, you can understand… Let’s be honest, Dagestan level of MMA here [high hand gesture], but Ireland level? Not even half of Dagestan level.”

This statement by the former lightweight champion has been heavily criticized by many fighters including some from Australia as well. MMA fighter, Reece McLaren wants some Irish kid to get motivated by this and become the next champion, “Hope this pisses off some young kid in Ireland and he becomes obsessed, trains hard and makes the big time and more.”

Khabib Nurmagomedov doubled down on his quotes by making another X post where he stated whatever he said was fact and could not be changed. Well, the animosity between the Dagestani and the Irish fandom won’t rest anytime soon. For now let us move on forward to Joe Rogan, who appears to have lost his Spotify crown.

Joe Rogan loses his Spotify crown to controversial star

The Joe Rogan Experience has been the frontrunner of the podcasting world on Spotify for years now but it appears that another podcast has finally taken Rogan’s number one status throne on the ranking table. A new podcast Telepathy Tapes hosted by filmmaker Ky Dickens and psychiatrist Dr. Diane Hennacy Powell. The show has topped the recent ranking tables leaving Joe Rogan to take second place. Well, this is not the first time that Rogan lost his top position but what matters is the consistency. Unlike other presenters, the multi-million dollar podcaster shares such episodes that repeatedly pull back its users. Regardless, let us now move on to the final segment with a younger Nurmagomedov.

We are just days away from witnessing an MMA masterclass between Merab Dvalishvili and Umar Nurmagomedov. Both of these fighters has been razing fire on each other since before the UFC 311 pre-fight press conference. The bantamweight champion initially accused Umar Nurmagomedov of disrespecting him while on the other hand ‘Young Eagle’ was left utterly. In his latest confession, the bantamweight contender explained his confusion, “We two opponents, you know, like it’s little bit emotional, you know? I don’t think he’s an angry person, I don’t think he’s a bad person,” said Dvalishvili.

He further added, “I don’t know why he talking about.. I really don’t know why he talking about disrespect. Of course, I tweet, I talking, but I didn’t talk, ‘You the liar,’ or I didn’t say really like, ‘You’re a bad person’ or something like that. I talk about fight. I say, ‘Hey, Merab. You try to avoid me. You doesn’t mention my name. It looks insane’.”

Umar Nurmagomedov emphasized that he doesn’t understand the reason why Dvalishvili is so angry at him considering the fact that, he has been doing what every fighter has to do and that is to call out the champion, “Everybody talk about that. Just not like me, and when the UFC push him to fight, okay Joe Rogan asked him after his fight when he won belt, Joe Rogan said, ‘Next opponent is Umar. What do you think about that?’ And he doesn’t said nothing. He just said, ‘Thank you, Dana White.’ And it’s not of all hype about he ducking, he try to avoid, it’s not because I do this. He do this. It’s his mistake.”
