This confession by the former dual-weight champion has been taken into cognizance by the former bantamweight champion. While having a conversation with renowned journalist, Ariel Helwani, O’Malley was asked about his opinion on McGregor’s words, to which he said, “I will always be one of the biggest Conor fans. He influenced my career so much. I would love to party with Conor someday but we will see if that ever happens. Who knows? Yeah, I don’t know, I would rather be friends with him than hate him. Michael Chandler reacts to McGregor’s choosing Dan Hooker as his next opponent
Conor McGregor’s fight with Michael Chandler may have to wait longer than it has already, as the former dual-weight champion has another opponent in mind. At the BKFC Spain event, the former dual-weight champion announced that he would be entering the Octagon next year in February against Dan Hooker. This statement appeared to have irked Michae Chandler, who waited to fight McGregor for a good two years.
While having a conversation with Ariel Helwani, Michael Chandler voiced, “Conor’s [McGregor] a very flavor of the week kind of guy. He just had a conversation with Dan Hooker… And be like, ‘Hey man, I like you, you like me, we can make some magic. Let’s fight each other.’ So, I looked no further than that, honestly”
He further added, “I don’t think the UFC is going to be very keen on McGregor versus hooker compared to McGregor versus Chandler since we need to make this fight happen so I’m not really that worried about it… The good thing is I have a great job to do in front of me and that’s November 16th in Charles Olivera.”
McGregor vs. Chandler was initially slated to happen at the UFC 303 but the fight fell off as ‘Notorious’ pulled out of the fight due to a toe injury. ‘Iron’ refused to wait any further as he accepted to fight Charles Oliveira at UFC 309. Since this whole situation is in limbo, let us move on to another development where Julianna Pena raised an issue with Amanda Nunes’s retirement move.

At UFC 307, Julianna Pena defeated Raquel Pennington to reclaim the women’s bantamweight title after her loss against Amanda Nunes back at UFC 277. Days after the callout, Amanda Nunes uploaded a video on her socials doing a skit where she was pleading with Dana White to take her back in to have a final fight and it appears that this skit might have irked the new champion who is of the opinion that Nunes is on steroids. Reacting to the skit video, Pena took to her socials to reupload the same video with her voiceover and stated, “You know why she wanted to retire? So that she could get on those roids and not get caught.”
Amanda Nunes was one of the most dominant fighters in UFC history and the only women’s fighter to have held two titles at the same time. The probability of their trilogy fight happening is at an all-time high right now. What’s your take on the hubbub? State your thoughts in the comments below.
