Deiveson Figueiredo pushes for a title shot against Merab Dvalishvili

Merab Dvalishvili successfully neutralized Sean O’Malley to clinch the bantamweight title and soon after former flyweight champion, Deiveson Figueiredo called him out for a fight. Figueiredo is on an impressive three-fighting, winning streak and his last three opponents are no small names. He defeated Rob Font, Cody Garbrandt, and Marlon Vera to make sure that he became one of the biggest prospects in the bantamweight division.

Now that Dvalishvili is the champion, Deiveson Figueiredo wants a title shot. After the victory, the former flyweight champion of the world took to his Instagram handle to congratulate the new champion with the caption, “Hey @danawhite! Let’s make it happen! December 7th! The UFC Noche headliner even between Sean O’Malley and Merab Dvalishvili was nothing but a wild ride as the entire match was filled with controversies. Once the match had begun, ‘Machine’ was furious at Sean O’Malley’s coach, Tim Welch. He even called him out but Herb’s dean intervened to manage the situation. The veteran referee warned the ‘Machine’ of further actions if he did the same.

Well, what happened next was a really outclassed performance by the Georgian fighter to clinch the bantamweight title. Regardless, after the victory, the MMA community wanted to know what Welch screamed that made Dvalishvili so angry. Well, the coach has come forward to state that. Taking to his X handle, Welch stated that he just told Dvalishvili to be patient “I said be patient merab, but congrats he fought a great fight.”
