What was supposed to be a smooth sailing trip for the UFC 311 main event was suddenly struck by lightning as Arman Tsarukyan had to pull out of the fight against Islam Makhachev as he injured his back during the final stages of the weight cut for the clash. As soon as the UFC CEO got the news, the war room was in action as they roped in Renato Moicano as a last-minute replacement. It’s a good thing that the main card had a lightweight bout with top fighters making weight, but what about Dariush? Well, unfortunately for him, he’s not fighting this time.

The Iranian fighter took to his Instagram handle to upload a photo of himself and captioned it, “Family and friends, unfortunately, I’m not fighting tomorrow. Due to changes in the card I have been left as the odd man out. I appreciate @danawhite and @ufc for giving me an opportunity to fight in my hometown and taking care of me even though I’m not fighting. I believe God has something better for me and I will wait faithfully to see how it unfolds.”

Renato Moicano took to the comment section to wish him luck for the future, writing, “All the best my brother! I respect you as a fighter and as a Christian god bless you.” With Moicano fighting Makhachev, Dariush will have to wait for his return to the Octagon. Regardless, let us move on to news of a Team Khabib member with a message for welterweight champ Belal Muhammad.
