A group of neurosurgeons studied the impact of Power Slap on athletes’ health, and the findings are far more concerning than one might imagine. The group outright rejected Dana White‘s claims that the sport has no health repercussions. Interestingly, as the group called out the UFC CEO for the sport, at the UFC 307 press conference, when Dana White was asked about the study, he responded with a straight-out denial.
We appreciate that our study was presented to @danawhite for his thoughts, but our conclusions were drawn after watching “season 1 and main events 2 to 5”, and not just the “first episode”. We would be happy to discuss this further. @NitinAgarwalMD https://t.co/VqeGPw44Bi

He even stated that the doctors were simply seeking attention and͏ nothing more. This statement by the UFC CEO has been ͏noted͏ by the group of doctors,͏ who have now called ͏on D͏ana White onc͏e again to conduct a specific͏ study on the topic using medical trials. One of the doctors of the group came out and took to X to state, “We appreciate that our study was presented to @danawhite for his thoughts, but our conclusions were drawn after watching “season 1 and main events 2 to 5”, and not just the “first episode”. We would be happy to discuss this further. @NitinAgarwalMD”
The doctors further state, “We want to put instrumental mouthguards into these combatants so we can measure what is the actual force they are sustaining when they get hit. So we would like to recruit as many of these combatants as possible.” Will Dana White respond to these terms? Well, we will have to wait for that but for now, let us move on forward to Max Holloway, who has something to say about Alex Pereira.

Is Dana White ignoring medical advice for Power Slap, or are neurosurgeons overreacting to the sport?

Max Holloway up for Alex Pereira to be the fighter of the year
Both Max Holloway and Alex Pereira deserve to be called the Fighter of the Year due to their spectacular performance inside the Octagon this year. It would not be wrong to state that Max Holloways buzzer-beater knockout against Justin Gaethje was the highlight of the year but Alex Pereira’s consistency appears to have overshadowed his contribution according to the BMF belt holder.
While having a conversation with Kevil Iole, Max Holloway claims that Alex Pereira should be the one to be crowned as the fighter of the year, “I mean I don’t know, man. I don’t know that I would do that [laughs]. The way Alex [Pereira] took fights. I mean the fastest guy to defend his title, right, with three title defenses. That’s a hard man to beat. I mean every time I’m in the talks for it, somebody’s having a crazy a** year. I think Alex Pereira has got that win in the bag already.”
Alex Pere͏ira ͏defended͏ his title three times in a year,͏ making him one of the most active champions in ͏re͏cent history. Addition͏al͏ly, he knocked out every͏ op͏pone͏nt to reclaim͏ the title, an͏d ͏accordi͏ng͏ to Holloway, this͏ is enou͏gh for͏ him to ca͏ll Per͏eira the Fi͏ghter of the Year͏. Dana White might be confused, about whom to give the title but it’s kind of sure that Pereira is the frontrunner for it. Regardless, let us move on forward to a piece of news about Merab Dvalishvili.

Aljamain Sterling again defends Merab Dvalishvili amid criticism
When Merab Dvalishvili defeated Sean O’Malley at UFC 306, a new era of wrestling heavy champions in the bantamweight division began, however, as Joe Rogan asked him about facing Umar Nurmagomedov, he changed the topic soon after. This has forced the MMA fans to call out the new champion for not only ducking fights but also using the same tactics as Jon Jones of choosing his own opponents.
When an X user uploaded a photo of Jon Jones and Merab Dvalishvili side-by-side and captioned, “Smile if you ducked the #1 contender in your division,” Aljamain Sterling called out the fans and stated, “You guys are exhausting. Constantly repeating stuff that makes NO sense. He just won the belt. Merab is Christian, not Muslim. Making one man’s religious beliefs the cause for “ducking” is baffling. How the heck is that Merab’s fault?? Make it make sense. That’s right, you can’t!”
