Magomed Ankalaev flaunts bragging rights on Alex Pereira after UFC 313 win
Magomed Ankalaev seemed to have only two words for the former UFC light heavyweight champion. Taking to X, the new LHW champ tweeted, “NO CHAMA.” The Russian champion had said the same during the pre-fight press conference too.
Ankalaev did manage to establish his message in the Octagon on Saturday night as well. He not only won on the scoreboard but also succeeded in almost knocking Alex Pereira down. On top of that, the man with the hands of stone seemed to have a few bruises on his face at the end of the night.
But ‘Poatan’ wasn’t ready to give up. Taking to Instagram, he had already shared a video claiming that he would soon reclaim the light heavyweight throne. But for that, the Brazilian would have to work really hard and come up with a better strategy. All that we need to do as fans is wait and watch the story unfold.

Now, let’s take a look at the featherweight division. With the championship title lying vacant, Alexander Volkanovski and Diego Lopes are set to battle for it at UFC 314. But before the event, ‘The Great’ had a message for the Brazilian featherweight contender.
What’s your perspective on:
Did Ankalaev's 'NO CHAMA' tweet hit harder than his punches against Pereira at UFC 313?

Alexander Volkanovski is giving the full ‘Great’ treatment to Diego Lopes at UFC 314
Prior to UFC 314, Volkanovski confessed, “I think I can beat Diego everywhere. He’s dangerous. He’s gonna be dangerous everywhere. So I need to sharpen up everything, right? Even if I want to go the wrestling route or grappling route, I think I dominate there anyway. Everyone knows him for Jiu-Jitsu. But trust me, I ain’t worried if it goes there.”
‘The Great’ claimed that even if things didn’t go as per his plan, he wasn’t going to give up. No quitting has indeed become his motto. And he promised that he would return stronger if he lost the bout against Lopes. He continued, “I’ll show the world and him that I’m just different. UFC 314, you’re gonna the Volk that you guys are used to, trust me. He’s coming back and he’s getting that belt back.”
🗣️ Alexander Volkanovski:
“I think [Diego Lopes] is gonna absolutely hate being in these positions, because he’s going to realize ‘I can’t stop this guy’…
I’ll show the world, and him, that I’m just different.” 🥶

But what exactly did Daniel Cormier have to say about Jamahall Hill? Let me tell you. It did have to do something with ‘Sweet Dreams’s comments regarding the main event at UFC 313. Let’s take a look at it.

Daniel Cormier gives Jamahal Hill analyst-to-analyst credit
After Ankalaev demolished Pereira and became the new LHW champion, Hill took to X and wrote, “But I’m a hater tho!! #bestbreakdownsinthegame.” And Cormier’s reply was, “You were right. Called it and called it due to striking. Spot on Jamahal. Credit where it’s due.” Does it have something to do with Hill’s rant about Herb Dean making a bad call at UFC 300? Well, it does seem like that.
‘Sweet Dreams’ previously claimed that Pereira cheated his way to victory at UFC 300 when he closed the gap between them. It was supposed to be an official time off. But according to Hill, Pereira simply signaled that he was okay and sent a strike that put Hill down while he had his guard down. Weighing in on this, Cormier said, “Generally, when an illegal strike happens, they separate the athletes, they come back together, and then the fight restarts. In that moment, it felt like Alex had said, ‘I’ve got my timing, I’ve got my foot placement.’ He went and landed, but they feel like they were much closer than they should have been.” And now, he had to give Hill the credit he deserved.
