Recovering from his injury, Khamzat Chimaev recently had an interview with ESPN. He mentioned there that he was not impressed with the UFC 297 main event. Like many people, he also believes that the fight was close, but thinks Sean Strickland should have won the fight. Chimaev said, “For me, Strickland won the fight, but it was a close fight… But [it was] nothing special.”
Furthermore, Khamzat Chimaev also appeared confident that he will get the title next, and he thinks it should be him fighting Dricus Du Plessis at UFC 300. “In my mind, it should be me. I asked [Hunter Campbell] to let me fight at UFC 300. We’ll see what they say,” Chimaev further stated.

‘Borz’ also expressed his disappointment with the UFC. He claims to be ready for the announcement, but could not comprehend why the promotion was taking too much time to set up that fight. “I’m ready. I don’t know why they are waiting [to book me a fight],” Khamzat Chimaev added. We will have to wait for further developments on this front.
Details on Conor McGregor’s doping test
MMA reporter Aaron Bronsteter recently provided an update about the UFC’s anti-doping program. He reported that the promotion has updated the anti-doping database as of now. The UFC updated the details for the first time since they ended their partnership with USADA on New Year’s Eve. The list consists of 61 registered athletes for test sessions. Apparently, Conor McGregor is one of the two fighters who’ve registered for more than one session, the other being Taylor Lapilus.

People are expecting Conor McGregor to make his return this year. He even mentioned a comeback during International Fight Week. However, Dana White recently dismissed those rumors. There is still no confirmed date for the Irishman’s comeback, although Michael Chandler seems to be sure about his status as the opponent for McGregor. It remains to be seen how things pan out for the former double champion in the days to come.

UFC middleweight fighter unloads on Dominick Cruz
Joe Rogan wasn’t a part of UFC 297 as former champion Dominick Cruz stepped in to fill his shoes on the commentary team. However, middleweight contender Chris Curtis did not take a liking to what ‘The Dominator’ had to say about him during the fight. “I get sh*t on by ‘DC’ and Dominick Cruz… ‘DC’ was kinder than before, but Dominick Cruz is just like, ‘It looks like he’s sparring,’ and blah blah blah,” Curtis told Ariel Helwani during a recent edition of ‘The MMA Hour.’

‘Action Man’ further went on to praise how good his opponent Marc-Andre Barriault was. He also hit back at some of the things Dominick Cruz had to say about the fight after it was over. “Bro, [Barriault is] a solid man… I hit him with some s*** that I’ve dropped people with, and he just kind of looked at it… I hear [Cruz say], ‘He didn’t even fight hard. It was a low-energy sparring match.’ Stand in front of me and let me hit you the same way,” added Chris Curtis. We will have to wait and see if Cruz responds to these statements.
