As you might have already heard, since it’s a headline grabbing development, Conor McGregor and Logan Paul will clash at the Wankhede stadium in Mumbai, India, where both fighters are reportedly set to make $250 million each. Both fighters will make big bucks, but what about the fight community? Well, AKA coach Javier Mendez gave his two cents about the fight, expressing his disapproval.
While having a conversation on the Javier Mendez Podcast, the head coach emphasized that the fight would have been better if Jake Paul was on the opposite end of McGregor, and not Logan Paul, “That’s going to be a bomb. His brother hasn’t won a freaking boxing match. Give me a break. How’s that gonna go? What’s Logan Paul’s fight record? They should do WWE. They’re great entertainers. A real fight? It’s no good. That [Conor vs. Jake] is the fight I’d rather watch. But not with Logan. Zero interest from me, as a fan of fighting. So people want to be entertained? Yes. I think Logan Paul can deliver that. And he will fight.”

He further added, “He’s just not technically good. Logan Paul is very charismatic, [a] very truthful guy. And I like him. But I’m not gonna say he’s a good boxer. He’s not. I’m not going to say he’s a good fighter. He’s not. But I will say he’s a good athlete. Yes. He’s a very good athlete. I’ve seen his attributes. But he just doesn’t take fighting serious is all I’m saying. So when you don’t take fighting serious, fighting doesn’t produce the results you’d like.” Javier Mendez has trained some of the greatest champions across different fight promotions and his take has a lot of weight behind it. Now, let’s move on to Joe Rogan who opened about an accident that gave him multiple injuries.
Joe Rogan reveals an injury sustained from skiing
Joe Rogan, being a martial artist, and not an active fighter, recently came forth with uncanny news about injuries he sustained. Were the injuries sustained in training? Well, no. He sustained severe injuries in a skiing accident, he revealed, while speaking to Bert Sorin in episode #2242 of The Joe Rogan Experience.
“The last time I skied, the last and final time I ever skied, this lady didn’t know how to ski and she slid into the trail and I had to try to not wipe out—not hit her, rather, and I [got] wiped out and I got what’s called the insufficiency fracture,” he explained. Rogan further added, “So it’s the bone fractured at the top of my shin, my fibula, or my tibia rather, right where the cartilage is. And so yeah, that created quite a bit of pain.”
He spoke about his injured knee, where the podcaster added that he still has some lingering pain in his leg, “I twisted it crossing slippery ground in September and I’ve had a lot of problems with it. I’ve had two knee surgeries, I had my ACL reconstructed, I had a meniscus piece removed.” Despite these injuries, Rogan seems to be in good health. Now, let’s move on to some news about a fighter who has found recent success after being cut from the UFC.

Post his UFC run, life has not stopped for Severino as the bantamweight fighter is now competing at the Czech promotion Oktagon MMA and secured a huge victory upon his return to fighting. Igor Severino defeated former champion Jonas Magard in a razor-thin bout. After clinching the victory, Severino got emotional and said, “I’m very emotional because I had a very hard nine months and nobody trusted that I could come back after this. So I’m here now in Oktagon, my head is with Oktagon, I want this belt more than anyone and this will be my new home.”
Will the UFC consider Igor Severino if he gets enough wins, and perhaps approach them with an apology at a later time? Well, that decision rests in Dana White’s hands. Regardless, what’s your take on the infamous bite, the mark of which was immortalized with a tattoo on Andre Lima’s chest? State your thoughts in the comments down below.
