Well, despite being one of the best fighters, Jones has a shady way to either celebrate his fights or go into the fights.

What is that, you might ask? Aljamain Sterling in his recent conversation on ‘Mighty Podcast’ revealed that he and Jones went to the same college, “Suspect number one, and I got to see this firsthand: Jon Jones. When we were in college together and he was in the UFC, I was still at Cortland. We went to school at SUNNY Morrisville, and that’s where I first met him.”

He further emphasized that Jon Jones partied hard before his fights which left him questioning his fighting tactics, “I transferred out the next year, but I would see this man a week before his fight—him at the bar at Mooney’s or the Dark Horse—going nuts. In my head, I was very like, “No sex, no drinking, no smoking.” Then I would see him, and I’m just like, “I don’t get it.” And then that weekend, he would just murder a guy on international TV. I was like, “He is doing something right.”

Have an interesting take?

Well, Jon Jones’ notoriety has been a concern for the promotion as well as for his opponents but despite that, he likes to live his life according to his own accord. Well, now that we know about Jones, let’s have a look at crucial news about Dana White and his boxing endeavor.

Dana White laid his plans for the boxing timeline

The UFC CEO Dana White shocked the world when he announced that he would be venturing into the world of boxing. Upon witnessing Callum Walsh’s match in Ireland, White stated that he has plans for making it big in the boxing world and he will be doing it soon. This is the second time when the UFC CEO has tried to get into the boxing world after he tried the same back in 2017. Regardless, what’s the timeline of the event?

While having a conversation with the reporters at the DWCS, the UFC CEo emphasized that they would start announcing the fights at the start of the upcoming year, “I did my first fight in Ireland and we’ll start announcing stuff here [at the] beginning of 2025.” Down in the conversation, the UFC CEO further asserted that he has several plans for the sport that he would like to implement.

He further added, “I have a plan, I’m going to implement that plan and we’ll see how it works. We’ll see how this thing works. People have been talking about the demise of boxing for 30 years and we’re still here talking about boxing right now… I have always had an idea of how I thought it should be done. I don’t know if that’s possible, but we’re going to find out. I’m coming in guns blazing.”

We might be witnessing a breakthrough in the world of combat sports at the start of the year. Regardless, let us get back to the MMA world as it appears that the old rivalry between Sean Strickland and Dricus Du Plessis is igniting again.

Sean Strickland vs. Dricus Du Plessis soon?

Dricus Du Plessis successfully defended his middleweight title against Israel Adesanya and his next challenge might be his old opponent Sean Strickland. Well, the UFC CEO himself promised a title shot for the former middleweight champ in one of the conversations with the media, “Listen, Sean Strickland right now is the number one ranked middleweight in the world, and the answer is yes (he will be next to fight for the title)’ so it is just palpable that he will be fighting ‘StillKnocks’ next.
